This is not a probability of success.

$600 is redicoulously steep, when you can buy a nice set of used 996 power seats for $1000 and the control unit is still wired to the bottom of the driver's seat.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

19 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

$600 OBO. 996.618.537.03 Thanks

POST 2Original post

the full retail price of the unit is only $865.19 and you can get it for way less then that at Sunset and other dealers. You might want to rethink your asking price.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looks like I accidentally posted this in the wrong forum, meant to put it in For Sale. I'm gonna do a little more research and figure out a better asking price.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

New price, which is much more reasonable. $600 OBO.

POST 5Original post

Not sure what to say about that. I can't imagine ANYBODY (1) needing that part, and (2) paying $600 for it. Heck, you can pick up a set of seats WITH the unit for close to that price (granted they are not sport seats or heat). I think this falls in that category of take what you can get. Take the first $100 and run. Still I can't imagine anybody would need this part. Not trying to rain on your parade, just trying to be brutally honest.

POST 6Original post

i actualy just replaced one on tuesday first one ive ever replaced. To be honest I think id ask about 200 and take 150

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

$600 is a value I just tossed out there because I need to list an asking price. I'm taking best offer.

POST 8Original post

Just trying to solicit some helpful advice to maybe get this sold. Take Brad's suggestion. Listing an asking price of $600 will get ZERO bites.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I read a story on Renntech not long ago about a guy who was having problems with the memory on his seats. He didn't know where else to get a new unit and ended up paying retail from Porsche. I'm going to take best offer. I would just say "best offer" but I have to list an asking price if I'm selling something. I appreciate the tips, but I'll see what kind of offers I get and if nobody bites I'll lower the ballpark figure asking price. If anybody needs this part, right now I'm the cheapest guy to get it from. I asked for a quote from Sunset and apparently they don't have any in stock right now. I found it on another site for close to $700.

POST 13Original post

Several years ago I needed an esoteric part like this for a car. I needed an igniter for a 1985 Toyota Cressida. Dealer was like $450. I hit up the local pick and pull and got one for $80.

POST 15Original post

The dealer couldn't program a brand new key I got thru them some time back. The anti-theft deactivation with the remote would send the seat going out of memory position. Dealer told me I needed a new memory control module, and quoted me $1000, PLUS labor, with NO guarantee that it would resolve the problem. I didn't buy that bull****. I'm sure though, that some people might need that part. You'd be better off selling that on ebay.

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've already had a few offers, but I'm not in a big hurry to get rid of the thing...so I'll see if I can get any more that are better. If not, I will most likely try eBay.

POST 17Original post

$600 is redicoulously steep, when you can buy a nice set of used 996 power seats for $1000 and the control unit is still wired to the bottom of the driver's seat.

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm not sure what the point of all of these posts are? If you aren't interested why bother posting? Why is it so difficult to understand the phrase "or best offer?" What that means is that I'm willing to sell it for the best offer. I'm required to put a price...I put a price down. I've already had a couple decent offers. If you don't need the part fine -- don't post. This entire thread is full of worthless posts. If anybody else is still confused about what "OBO" means please look up the definition before posting. The bottom line is that I have this part sitting around and if somebody needs it make me an offer. Send me a link to a place selling this part and I'll gladly match their price. I'm not trying to rip anybody off...but I'm not going to give it away. Best offer takes it.
