It seems like a schnell or fabspeed CAI would not foul the MAF sensor as long as you use the stock air filter.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have been looking around and have not found an answer to this question. Does a intake muffler bypass ie: schnell or fabspeed CAI mess up the MAF sensors like the K&N CAI's? I have a K&N CAI and after about 400 miles I started to get the typical MAF sensor CEL's. I cleaned the sensor and it did not fix the problem. I understand that it may be from particles and oil from the oiled K&N filter. It seems like a schnell or fabspeed CAI would not foul the MAF sensor as long as you use the stock air filter. With the Schnell/Fabspeed CAI's all the mods occur after the MAF sensor (with the stock filter) Am I off target here? I liked the high RPM sound difference with the K&N CAI but I didn't like the MAF problems.

POST 2Original post

I just ordered the Schnell CAI and had them add the K&N drop in filter for an extra $69. I will let you know how it is once I install. The Schnell as far as I could tell was the same as the Fabspeed but $100 cheaper.
