It's probably the case that the shipping company is waiting for a truck that's heading this way...
Leading evidence: 'case' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'case' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). A good drive is always a good excuse to go to town on a cleaning blinge.

Unfortunately, that's a little too far for a "fun run."

I'm looking forward to pulling together another run for July.

I'll try and come up with a new run for July so that we can go and play again.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Boys, I believe we have a quorum.
I'll pull the trigger and set this up this weekend. The route is alreadt prepared from last time, now I just have to do the PCA side of the arrangements and get the word out.
It will be great to see you guys again.
Yes, I'll post elsewhere and we'll aim to get hte best tunout we can - not too big though, as we want to strike a balance between having a good turnout and not having people sitting on top of eachother.
Uh Oh - What Car show - may take precedence since we can incorporate a ride to Limerock ??
Thoughts ?
Edit - Hemmings - How good/large is it and do they sell at the show ?
I believe this will be their second annual show, launched in part with the kick-off of their magazine of the same name (Sports and Exotic Car Magazine). Couldn't make it last year, but as I recall, it was a one day show for pre-1979 cars. This year, they've raised the year to include more cars.
Ramp, I hope you can do both events....please come to Lambertville, and then you can do the Hemmings show the next day. C'mon!
He probably will be on "call" even if he is not. In order for him to attend, he would actually have to drive his C4S!
Hey Phil, are you up to 2,000 miles yet? You need to get to the "official" break-in point before the tires rot off the car!
Yeah, I have given him enough **** about not driving his car enough, so he's probably already pi$$ed off at me. So I figured, "what the hell," I might as well dig myself in a little deeper.
Believe it or not, I actually looked at MapQuest on Thursday to see how long it would take me to get there. 9 hours and 17 minutes one way. Unfortunately, that's a little too far for a "fun run."
Please consider coming. Obviously, a fun run is not worth a 9 hour trip, but the Philadelphia area is a wonderful destination for tourists. History....culture....sports....nice roads.....the Atlantic Ocean and our famed New Jersey beaches.....etc. How does that sound - a mini vacation during which you could participate in the fun run?
I'll buy you breakfast, or lunch, or dinner. We'll make you feel at home. We'll watch over you and take care of you. Deal?
WOW - that is one hell of an invitation! I really do appreciate the invitation, but I don't think it will work for me this time because of other commitments around that same time.
I tried....I tried. There's a driving tour in Rockville, Maryland on May 6th, but even that one is pretty far from got911. The challenge seems insurmountable!
Yep, I'll be up for Fling Spring.
We'll have to see if we can better attendance than 2 993s this time around.
Count me in Wayne.

This is the first Hemmings Show. I believe it is cars prior to 1989. The cars will be parked along the front straight. I've attend cars show there before (sunday of labor day weekend) They are usually large shows with hundreds of cars.
Featured mark for this show is porsche. Anyone who drives up with a porsche will get preferred parking (porsche only grass lot) near the show itself.
There are usually tents set up in the grass with vendors, etc. Limerock is very good for familes, bring the wife and kids.
Last labor day weekend, the featured mark was Mini Coopers and over 800 showed up. I expected a lot of porsches.
Glad to have you along again Phil!
If you want more 993s to show up you'll have to post on the 993 forum and tell them that we said that they were afraid to show up, as the 996 and 997s would leave them standing... that should stir up the hornet's nest enough to get them to show.
We are still on and I was intending on bumping the threads this weekend.
Glad to hear that you're joining us again. I'd assumed when I didn't hear from you that you couldn't make it.
Glad to have you both along.
This month has been crazy for me also... hence the reason I've hardly posted recently. It's a good thing that this was already prepped before the last run, otherwise I'd never have time to pull all this together.
Okay, I've just gotten back from a dry run of next weekend's drive. All is well, the roads are open and we are good to go.
The drive is very pretty right now, but I'll say that it has a different character than the direction that we ran in April - more hill climbs and a little slower around the curves, due to the sight lines... still a fun drive though.
Glad to have you along.
For directions click on the link in post #1 and it will direct you to plug in your starting point and Google maps will tell you how to get there.
I'm interested. I'm in the DE area, but I could easily be in the NJ area. I'm litterally 10 days away from being 21 so I don't think I'd be able to attend any bars that you all fine gentlemen may choose to stop at but I'd be glad to bring my 03 C4S and go for a drive.
Would I be the youngest owner there?
I have no clue. We run these as PCA events, so we have no clue how many people are showing up until the day. Last time we had around 30 cars.
You're welcome to join us. No bars, just a fun backcountry drive.
I've had the car for nearly 8 months now. I had just sold my Elise at the end of last summer to by the Porsche. I only had the elise for 3 months. I do expect to keep the C4S for one more year, then go for the 996 Turbo or possibly 997 GT3. You all will be the first to know and I look forward to meeting other Porschephobes.
I don't think we wil be stopping at any bars at 7am on a Saturday morning.
but, seriously I went on the run last time and it was a lot of fun. I will be there with my C4S as well, I hope you can join us.
Okay, last minute pointers:
i) Arrive with a full tank of gas. There is a gas station in Lambertville, but I don't know if it's open early so early, so you should fill up somewhere on the home stretch close to Lambertville.
ii) Use the rest rooms at the gas station - there are gas stations along the way, but we would hate to lose you. We will have a rest stop about a third of the way into the drive.
iii) If you have 2 way radios, bring them, as we'll have them and can all tune into the same channel.
iv) Arriving early is good.
v) Bring a camera and take lots of photos.
vi) If you have a map that covers upper bucks county, PA, then it will not hurt to bring it. The directions we've pulled together (I think) are pretty good, but on the off-chance that you get separated it will be good to have members of the group with maps.
vii) Have fun, but be careful with your speed until we get out of Lamberville. It is a 25 mph zone until we get out of town and the police do sit there with radar - don't worry, we'll be out of town in a few minutes and I'd hate for us to get a police escort up to the NJ border.
As for passing opportunities - pass where it's legal and safe. The route has plenty of passing opportunities.
Thanks again Wellardmac for putting this together again. I've been swamped with work and home but managed to pull this off - although without my navigator this time and I'll be leaving very early on Sat morning. I did manage to recruit 2 new potential Rennlister's - one will have a '03 996 C2 and the other will be driving a '06 Boxster.
I think the are both in for a big surprise on the fun factor. Looking forward to a beautiful day.

No problem! Glad to have you along again.. and thanks for bringing along a couple of friends!
I'm looking forward to the drive.
I'll admit that I'm torn on this one. The drive is incredibly pretty right now, but will have a different feel from the last one... the foliage makes the roads a little more claustrophobic and the turns a little more blind... that in turn will slow us down just a touch. Additionally, the reverse direction has more hill climbs. A nice drive, but different. Not sure how people will respond to this one.
... so the indecision is whether we run the same direction as the last time, or the reverse direction as I'd planned. We'll see. I still have a few days to decide.
Hi,
My lovely Targa is still in the garage.....but it has been sold to a lucky owner in Boston. I am not going to risk bringing it out. It is being picked up next week after the holiday.
J
I'm also OK with running the route in the same direction. If we had run it 10 times in the same direction and were bored with it, I'd suggest running it backwards. But that's not the case. See you tomorrow!
P.S. A Porsche 968 will be joining us tomorrow.
Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. The Cayman will be represented!
What's all this talk about driving the route in reverse? Top speeds are much higher when using forward gears...
Yeah, the cops are going to give each of you a ticket as you leave the parking lot. It will save them a lot of time and effort... but the good news is that it will also give you a "free pass" to drive like a "bat out of Hell" the rest of the day!
...yup and there were plenty around today.
A nice drive - it was good to see you all again. The weather was awesome and the drive pretty.
NAVYC4S - nice nitro system. I'd love to see that one move when you hit the gas.
I'll post photos once I get them off of my camera.
PM me if you have photos that you're willing to share and I'll post them to my website again for all to see.
Now we start planning for the drive in July.
Wayne - It looks like you were missing a Lapis Blue C2 in the "collection." I wish I could have joined you in the drive so I could have filled that color void. Nice pics, thanks for sharing them!
I figured you'd get a kick out of seeing the photos.
We had a lapis C4S, but not a C2. It would have been great to have you with us. I'm sure you would have had fun.
Thanks again Wayne! Another fabulous drive. These rallys provide invaluable driving experience. Driving amongst the other cars gives me the confidence to push the car in ways I may not have on my own. Great collection of Porsches and a terrific group of drivers makes for a great time.
You're welcome and thank you for attending. The people and the cars make the drive fun.
I'll try and come up with a new run for July so that we can go and play again.
BTW, who killed the squirrel yesterday?
The two most memorable comments that came over the radio were, "oh no I just killed a squirrel" and 'I just left my kidney's behind on that last bump".
I know who said the latter comment, but not the former, so come on, who is the squirrel squisher?
When we came upon the wounded critter, it wasn't yet dead. But the ground hog had been severely conked by someone ahead of us. Regardless of what we're driving or how we're driving, these incidents are always sad and to a great extent, are unavoidable.
Yup, I know. I bearly missed a poor squirrel that didn't have a clue which way to run as we came rolling around the corner. My wife felt bad when she heard the squirrel comment.
Thanks jerry. I'm looking forward to pulling together another run for July. I just have to get my act together and figure out where all the covered bridges are, then connect the dots.
Hey, I was insired by Arnee's avatar - what do you think of this photo taken yesterday?
...pplus I couldn't resist posting a couple of photos taken after I detailed my car today. A good drive is always a good excuse to go to town on a cleaning blinge.
Ugh. It wasn't me, but I saw the poor critter rolling towards the side of the road after having been hit by one of the cars in front of me. The image stuck with me for a while and had actually been forgotten until I read this thread. Oh well.
I'm looking for the one of the participants who was with us on the 5/26 Fling Spring event. If you are (or know who is) the owner of the silver 993 with the whale tail (imported from Dubai, I think?), please PM me. I want to talk to you about someone who's interested in buying your 968. Thanks.
