They were pulled off the car right when it hit the dealership (they installed an aftermarket one for me).

Signal - Just so you know that I am not trying to steal these mufflers out from under you, I already have a modded set of 3.6L mufflers installed on my car.

Gota: I've never heard the MKI conversion running on a car.

Suggestion
Tom: as long as they look like the set with the accordion type inlet on it, they're the right ones to do the mod with.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am looking for a set of 3.6L mufflers, if anyone has any they aren't using or want to get rid of. I want to improve the sound on my car by modding them.
***DISCLAIMER***I am not a paying member so I'm not allowed to sell anything FWIW.
I have a set that I have modded. they are off of a 2003 C4S with 30K at the time. feel free to pm me.
NAvyC4S - Just curious, what version of the PSE MOd did you do on teh 3.6L "cans," MKI or MKII?
Signal - Just so you know that I am not trying to steal these mufflers out from under you, I already have a modded set of 3.6L mufflers installed on my car. I just wanted to know, really for YOUR sake, which version of the mod he did on the mufflers.
gota, appreciate it, I did PM him and ask the same. Truth is, I lined up 2 seperate sets of 3.6L, one even modified with mkII, and for whatever reason I can't reach the sellers anymore, like they vanished, so now I am looking for yet a 3rd seller.
I got your pm and I am not sure if C4S mufflers are the same as C2 mufflers.
C4 mufflers are the same as C2, they are both narrow bodies.
Are C4S mufflers the same as C2?
I also do not know what mkI or mkII are. I did not run the bypass pipe into the blank hole and to the middle chamber. I simply cut the hole out and welded the pipe from there to the exit. I'm assumink mkI???
Here's a picture of a set of completed MKII modded mufflers off of a 3.6L engine. Note the accordion type pipe that differentiates the 3.6L muffler from the 3.4L ones.
Good luck
Oh yes...Don't listen to Gota911...he's a muffler mod monster...he'll talk you into stuff that you'll end up really liking.
There are different part numbers for the C2 and C4S mufflers. However, it there are differences they are very minor. THe C4S mufflers whould work on a C2.
NAvyC4S - Chuck's pic above is the MK II mod. The pic below is the MK I mod.
I have a set of 03 C4S mufflers. They were pulled off the car right when it hit the dealership (they installed an aftermarket one for me). They probably had 5-10 miles on them at most. Been sitting in my attic ever since.
Located in NJ. PM if interested.
Tom: as long as they look like the set with the accordion type inlet on it, they're the right ones to do the mod with. I've heard mixed reactions from folks doing the mod with the 3.4L mufflers. Some folks were sorely disappointed with the results.
Gota: I've never heard the MKI conversion running on a car. Given the costs of the 2 1/4 inch stainless pipe at $75 from Burns....it looks like the MKI conversion....is actually easier to do and cheaper. Is there a sound clip on the MKI conversion? I'd like to hear them running. I know that if you put a set of PSE's up next to the MKII conversions...they look almost exactly alike with the exception that there's no vacuum operated solenoid to open and close the bypass port. I'll have to get up next to someone with a genuine PSE set and see how they sound in direct comparison.
What I really like is the fact that at a light or backing out of your garage and gingerly taking off down the neighborhood, as long as you don't get on it, you really cant' even tell they're on there. But tromp on it and Oh, Yes....!
