I know that you're supposed to be able to get the history by asking nicely at a Porsche dealer after getting the present owners' permission, but what about the case of a leased vehicle? I don't know if it would be possible to find out the lessee from the leasing company. I found a nice 01 cab, and my local dealer showed me the warranty work list. All pretty minor except for an $11k entry! He thought it might be a clutch, but I'd like to be able to find out exactly what it is. Any ideas? tom

I can't imagine any clutch could cost that much unless the clutch work was required because the engine blew up. Sounds closer to the cost of a reman engine swap.

Tom, $11K wow! I am looking at a 1999 that just had clutch replaced for a total of $2600. As a hopefully soon to be P-car owner, I hope that's not the cost of a clutch. Good luck on sorting out the details with the dealership.
