Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The factory Warranty expires June 6. A PPI was done by Porsche of Boulder and it came up absolutely flawless. The Independent Dealer was asking $61,950 we agreed on $59,300. (it's something, Right?) I will probably purchase an extended warranty but not sure what just yet.
I am heading out this Friday so see in person and I am bringing a check. So...Unless there is some unforseen circumstance it will be a done deal. I will have the car transported back to Scottsdale from Denver and it should be here by next weekend.
Sweet!
Two things:
1. Congrats - I love a red C4S, you don't see many of them.
2. Are you insane? You're having it shipped from Boulder to AZ? Fly over there and pick the damn thing up. You should be able to hit 140 easy through the Navajo nation!
I have a 2003 C4S that I also just posted for sale. Lots of exclusive options (painted seatbacks, console, alumnium gauges, carbon fiber shifter/handbrake).
Only 20,000 miles. Asking $53,000. My last 2 offers fell through. Never had a problem, always dealer serviced. Dealer did a full check for me earlier this month and found no problems.
FYI: I just paid my dues...
Here's a one owner, 2003, great colors/options with 4k miles for $57k.

Only way I'd buy the one you're looking at for $59k, is if they throw in an aftermarket warranty from Warrantydirect.com !!!!!!!!!! Believe that!
I think the price is fair. I may have been able to do a bit better, however It took me a year to find a nice red on black 6 speed coupe with low mileage. I was very specific about what I wanted while I was looking. I was not going to wait another year to save $3000. If you can afford a $56,000 car you can afford a $59,000 car. Right?
I agree.. My main thing was the color also, not the price. I wanted to buy the car to enjoy for myself, not to tell people I saved money by buying a "cheaper" Porsche.
I disagree, the price is NOT fair, I am telling you as someone who bought a C4S with those miles, 9 months ago and just traded it in 1 month ago. That price would barely be fair IF IT HAD a CPO. Without CPO, you are paying 2 or 3k TOO MUCH!
If you like your money, and would rather part with LESS, go in, tell them you found a car with LOWER miles that's $4k less, WITH a warranty. Tell them you are walking on the deal. They may start negotiatting there, or they may let you walk. They will call you later that day (or the next), and start negotiating. Name a bottom-line price of $56k or $58 WITH a warranty and you WILL GET THE DEAL! Believe me! It took me 4 days of HARD negotiation, but in the end, I won.
I feel my opinion is fact! Alas, it's your money, spend it how you want.
Not trying to throw a wrench in the works here, but thought I'd pass along info on a car I came across in my recent search. It's a two-owner car for private sale in the color combo you're looking for. A year older, but low mileage and you might save $10K.
Here's info from the autotrader ad:
2002 PORSCHE 911, 14K mi, 911 C4S, Red with Black interior, 14K mi, 6 speed, beautiful car, $51,000
If you're interested PM me and I'll forward along the guys' email and phone number.
Oh and by the way, I believe Gant's former car (spotless 02 C4s with about 21K miles) can be had out the door CPO'd from a dealer for $51K. It's not red, but that's a data point for you anyway.
Thanks Guys, I'm heading out tonight. I may haggle a bit over the Warranty but I'm not going to risk losing the car. I've been looking for too long. Remember I am very specific about what I want including options. I will post some pics when I get back if the deal goes thru.
PS I am bringing my radar just incase I change my mind and decide to drive it back.
+1. I think you did well if you got the car you wanted. In my experience when I was searching, there were cars of the same year and more or less the same mileage that were priced 5-10k apart in some instances. Did I buy the cheapest one I could find? No, actually I bought one of the more expensive ones but it had everything I wanted and more plus a spotless pedigree.
BTW: congrats on a beautiful car!
Congrats,
I vote drive it back. I bought my first boxster from a lady in Sacramento and drove it back with my Dad to Phoenix. One of the best road trips I've ever taken.
Get the warranty! This is not negotiable. Yours is out of warranty in < 1 week. Especially since at that price you should be getting it anyway. Trust me, the dealer won't let you walk out of the door without it for the cost of a warranty.
The dude has obviously been bitten, I know the feeling! He simply doens't understand that he is in the drivers seat, but he's scooting over and letting the dealer drive. Please excuse the pun.
Oh well.
