Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. I installed the switch just to take up one of the blanks on the dash.

You can get PSE installed with or wihout the button.

I use the switch about twice a year....just to make sure it works..

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

There is NOTHING better than the PSE! Try places like Sunset or Suncoast as they usually have the best prices. I bought mine several years ago for $1499 shipped from Brandywine. They have since changed parts guys and the deals aren't like they used to be. Patience will get you exactly what you want.
Hi,
In that video...on the second take....it sounds like there is no PSE for a few blips.....how is that? Is PSE simply a different muffler? Does anything else need to be changed? Thanks in advance.

Another vote for PSE.
FYI, PSE can be configured so it is always on (i.e. Loud) or On and Off at the touch of a button through a series of electronically controlled baffles.
PSE is also the most expensive. Several here have modified 3.6 stock exhaust for nearly the PSE sound and very very inexpensive. Other aftermarket mufflers that sound great are GHL and Tubi
Cos I switched it off. I was demonstrating the difference between on and off.
Also, I wasn't revving very high (I was in my garage!) but you get a good idea of the growl.
Try this one at speed;

Yes, there is a button on the dash. However, if you utilize the electronics there is a programmed cutout speed (I believe around 35 mph) where the system automatically goes back to quiet (then back to loud at high speed).
There is a hack to disable the cutout. I have PSE on my car that is controlled with the switch, however, I disabled the auto function. Mine setup is now either always loud or always quite depending on the switch position.
You can also set the system up so there is no interior switch and the mufflers are always loud.
You can get PSE installed with or wihout the button. From the factory, I believe it only came with the button. The button switches it completely off or leaves it (by default) on. When it is on, it will automatically switch itself off at around 27mph and back on again around 47mph. This is a european noise regulation.

You hear more engine than the exhaust so at WOT, it all pretty much sounds the same whether you have PSE or not at least from the inside of the car.
The only way to truly make a sound decision (pun intended) is to hear it in person.
I have the PSEs and i think that nothing puts out the distinct porsche notes better than them!!
I installed mine without the electronics. The default is in sport. They're quiet when cruising and sings hair raising notes when accelerating hard!! The only thing i don't like is their weight. Theyy're about the same weight as the stock if not heavier because of the mechanism inside.
I've heard Fabspeed(they're light too) but they don't sound right to me for porsche. Too fartsy at idle and ferrari sound when accelerating.
Look dude just like no one's gonna say in front of a crowd that their kid is uglier than yours, no one's going to come and say the exhaust they spent $ to put on their car sounds bad.
Again, you gotta listen to it in person to make the best decision for you as people are naturally going to speak thru their wallets.
I've heard the Fab and PSE in person. I like the PSE better.
WItha ll that said just judging by vids, the B&B sounds similar to the Fab which is the "problem" . The PSE unit has this unique burble/crackle that no other exhaust out there can replicate.
I agree - it's all about personal taste and the level of investment required. Listen to sound clips to narrow the field than listen to them in person before buying.
I bought my car because I liked the sound way more than a stock exhaust.
No, not insane at all. This question gets asked all the time and the only way to answer it is to point people towards sound clips and video. I've not seen/heard a good video clip of B&Bs, so I thought it was my duty to post them so that others could hear the great noise they make.
... now, that's an aside from the time I spent this afternoon distracted from the real work I was supposed to be doing - thankfully it only took 10 mins to film, edit and post.
To enhance the sound of any sport exhaust system must add a air intake like the EVO V-flow. I have the combimation of the tubi and v-flow and the sound is incredible. the sound of the sport exhaust w/o the air intake is more mellow. Try it and you'll like it
If you bought it from a dealer it will come with the kit (but you have to order the acutal dash swithc separately. The wiring harness, etc. is included and takes a good afternoon to do all the wiring runs properly. I think OE (Orient Express) did it. Personally I wanted it "on" all the time so I didn't have the wiring harness hooked up and sold the kit to another Rennlister.
Exact same for me. Ordered it. Came in with the electronics/vacuum lines and acculmulator. I did not install the any of it(electronics/vacuum lines and acculmulator). The sound of the exhaust in sport mode is just the best for me!!
I sold the electronics/lines etc to another Rennlister.
Hey Dell: Need all the help I can get.
From a weight savings, the tubi's are much lighter than either the stock or PSE and the better breathing intake does making a big difference in the exhaust note.
I've been driving with my Fabspeed muffler bypass on for about a week. The sound is addicting - and oh so sweet.
Just an FYI - the Fabspeed muffler bypass also improves gas mileage. Alot. In fact, I must be getting at least an extra 5 miles per gallon since I
*can't*push*the*right*pedal*down*all*the*way*down*
while driving around town. We're talking slow and steady acceleration - and
no
WOT. Ever. Geesh.
However, on the highway and the track under full acceleration the sound is intoxicating. It's always a sad day when I have to put the mufflers back on...
