I couldn't get the dogone thing into my washing machine because of the sheer bulk of it....so I filled the bath tub with hot water and used Woolite and took a toilet plunger and used the plunger to get the dirt out of the cover.turning and plunging the cover till the water turned dirty...then rinsed till it ran clear....then hung it outside on a rope stretched between posts on the patio and air dried it.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is it Machine Washable? I have the OEM Silver Car Cover... How do i go about Washing it and Drying it? Thanks...

POST 3Original post

Yes, its washable. I'll go see if I can find the directions that came with it. If I recall correctly it should be air dried after its washed. I can't find the directions, but found some alum. pedals I forgot I had. It seems to me that I took it to a laundry mat to wash it (bigger washer). I used some car wash (or diluted simple green, dishsoap - something mild) and cool/warm water. Took it home in a giant plastic bag and then hung it up to air dry. It wasn't totally clean but was a lot better than before.

POST 4Original post

I couldn't get the dogone thing into my washing machine because of the sheer bulk of it....so I filled the bath tub with hot water and used Woolite and took a toilet plunger and used the plunger to get the dirt out of the cover.turning and plunging the cover till the water turned dirty...then rinsed till it ran clear....then hung it outside on a rope stretched between posts on the patio and air dried it. It came out great...and the Woolite does an excellent job of cleaning it.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So can i just throw it into teh Washing Machine to Delicate Cycle with some Woolite and let it Air Dry?

POST 6Original post

If your washing machine is big enough for it.....mine wasn't. You might also be able to take it to one of those laundromats that have the BIG commercial sized washing machines and throw it in there. I was concerned about the plastic window that allows the license plate to show through, so thati's why I decided to do it by hand, but I would imagine that even if the plastic didnt' survivie the washing, it would be no big deal. I know that Woolite is a really great cleaner for everthing from the car covers to the upholstery and carpeting.

POST 7Original post

I washed with only water and air/tumble dried. Looks great, no problem, no torn seams.
