Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

37 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here is a of pic of my 2001 Orient Red Carrera 2 Coupe. I had a delightful drive from Greensboro, NC back on to northeastern PA on Friday. It was a great way to familiarize myself with the car. Now I need to do a bit of cleaning.

POST 2Original post

nice... it looks like no Sunroof... can you confirm?

POST 3Original post

Congrats on your new ride! Welcome to the board! What options did you get with that beauty? Rudy

POST 4Original post

Great car. I think that's the year they forgot to put the key hole on the passenger side Just kdding. I hope you made it past the PA turnpike with out incident. I'd of cut into the Shenandoah Valley and headed north. No matter what roads its a great car. This must mean the weather is going to get better for driving now

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It does have a sunroof. I am still trying to figure out the options. Most of them that I can decode are pretty much for leather interior, power seats, Hifi stereo, etc. I might need some help as the Renntech search doesn't seem to find them all. I live outside of Scranton, Pa. I was able to avoid the PA turnpike but Interstate 81 is pretty rough in spots.

Congrats on the car! I lived in Mount Pocono for a while before moving to Charlotte. We still own our homes there and have them as rentals now. There are some nice roads out that way including Route 611 that runs along the Delaware River. Have fun with the car!

Sir, I commend you on your protocol and decorum. Now let me get back to cracking those 2 final option codes. I have only gotten to the part that it may have something to do with the IMS.

http://www.kindel.com/porsche/options.asp I changed the listing above. The 236 might be some other number or a germany only option. Try the link yourself for some fun. Germany get bug splats from bottom to top of windscreens. Plus lots of cars of the autobahn will squirt the windscreen water over the car since the nozzls are set for high speed adjusted so that the wind put the water on the screen at speed. Stopped the car behind gets sprayed hehehe.

POST 20Original post

Nice to hear you weren't intimidated to drive from NC to Pa. Nice 911, and thanks for the pic.

POST 21Original post

I was hoping for the west side of PA... I grew up in Reading. Welcome and enjoy the car!

POST 23Original post

CO2 - is the new pollution control system that converts emissions into gold. They just never quite got it to work right. Actually, I am pretty certain that CO2 designates it as a USA model.

POST 28Original post

So did you track how many miles per gallon? Any oil burning?

POST 30 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I averaged about 26.5 mpg on one tank and 26.3 mpg on another. I didn't notice any oil level drop but really it was only about 600 miles.

POST 31Original post

OK - thats just sick and we ALL expect a MAJOR reduction in gas milage for the next report Push the "loud pedal" harder next time

POST 32Original post

Great to hear your gas mileage is hanging in there.

POST 33Original post

Welcome aboard. There are alot good people here...enjoy 996..

Miles per gallon?? Back to the Prius forum for you! If you are not getting under 15MPG, your not doing it right!

POST 35Original post

MPG is a good way to see if the performance of the engine is slipping. A long cruise would be a good time to grade. With nobody following to watch for oil burn or other symptoms of bad valving from exhaust the gas mileage and oil level is all I could think of for him. If he would of taken the Tar Heels route back I'd venture to say the roller coaster hills would of gotten worse gas milage and be harder to evailuate. BUT, he would of had one heck of a fun time.

POST 36 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I took 40 East to 85 North to 95. The mileage seemed to slip a bit near the border of NC and southern VA with a few hills but then went back up before I refilled in the DC area. PA has some pretty good hills also but the mileage seemed to average out around 26.5 mpg. This was all at an average of about 70 mph.

POST 37Original post

You get rippling hills (trait of tar hills) north of Lynchburg. I mean up down up down up down for mile after mile. It's a riot of a roller coaster. A guy can get tempted to see if he can get air on the tops. Glad the cruise went well. Take care of the roads and I'm sure you know about the turnpike cops. Great car you have there.
