If you're going to use it more for everyday use, jaunts from here to there, as well longer trips, get the TT.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Need advice.... I am currently looking at two beautiful pcars and can't make up my mind. Here are the specifics for both:
03 TT: Guards red with aero package and sports seats with colored backs. Car has 35k miles and maticulously mainted by local pcar dealership. Car will be CPO and just received 30k mile service. Car is selling for 72k.
04 GT3: White with porsche ceramic brakes. Car has 24k miles and factory warranty until august of this year. Car will be be CPO and is selling for 78k, but I think that I can negotiate slightly better price.
If you guys had to choose, which one will it be and why. Looking forward to reading your opinions.
Thanks, manny.
Really tough decision. If you're going to track the car and/or don't don't mind it being a rougher ride and stripped down, get the, GT3. The GT3 will also connect you to the road better and is WAY lighter and more agile. Better drivers experience.
If you're going to use it more for everyday use, jaunts from here to there, as well longer trips, get the TT. The GT3 will own it around the track, but the TT will catch up in the straights.
Once you get used to the shear thrust of the TT, the GT3 won't compare.
If it were me, and it was, the TT was the better car (for me). I'll never track the car, but even if I did, the TT would be outstanding. Also, the TT has all the creature comforts and wicked torque/power that we all love. Get the TT, unless you are going to track it several X's a month.
I chose a TT...use the car every day...in snow, rain, etc. If the car was a track car....probably gt3 if not modded, if modding, the TURBO is amazing ....see the turbo forum for parts/mods. 550hp is realistic for under 5k. Maybe 650hp for 10k. Just a thought.....I have felt a modded car...there is nothing quite like taking off in a one save probably flying a jet or a motorcycle (a good one).
Turbo's are underpriced right now too, IMHO.

Come listen to the wail of an 8200 redline sing to you. You will forget you even own a TT
ps. I really do love the TT's. They look gorgeous in my rear view mirror
They're both awesome high performance cars in their own right. But with the relatively large volume of TT's available on the market, the GT3 is much more unique and if you can get it for something near the mid-70's, I'd go with it over the TT, assuming the PPI checks out.
WOW, i wish I had your problems!
I say GT3, Turbo's are everywhere, you rarely see GT3's, they typically are pretty well optioned too in that allot of them have full leather and all the good bits as well.
Very true. Just depends on what you will use it for. I looked at both as well. And when it came down to it I would rather have a car that I rarely drive on the street but will eat just about anything alive that tried to bring it at the track rather than have a car that looks cool, feels cool, and is cool, driving daily but a lumbering pig on the track and always wishing I had the proper car to feed my addiction.
If you don't track or only do a couple evewnts a year, get the TT.
And remove the front diff and make it a 2wd. Oh wait, doesn't PAG make one of those???
The reason why TT are more common is because the GT3 is more of a track car than a street car. Not many will buy one unless you track often. The Carrera and GT3 are much more fun on the track. TT is a little heavier and the high torque and slight turbo lag make is more challenging when coming out of corners.
I personally like the GT3 look better, with a clean & simple lines.
The October 2005 issue of 911 & Porsche World cover the battle of the Turbo vs GT3.
In the end of the extensive article we could read this:
The veredict: The Porsche fan will love both of these cars, and although they're built for very different purposes choosing between them isn't easy. In the GT3 you would miss the Turbo's refinement. In the Turbo you'd long for the GT3 raw, seat-of-the pants feel. But if forced to choose we'd take the GT3. It may be rather noisier and less pratical than the turbo, but you'll go a long way to find another car that's so communicative and so enjoyable, and that sways it for us. It's not the common-sense choice, but then you only live once.
For me, it's the refinement, sound deadening, undercarriage, AC (LOL), AWD, the MAD Twin-Turbo thrust, mod-ability, etc..etc..... that I went for.
I think you'll find that the GT3 guys are going to say GT3, and the Turbo guys, the Turbo, and for very different reasons. I think you really need some seat-time in both to decide. Unless of-course you really know what you want to do with it.
The Turbo is obviously a more pricey car, for good reason, there are also a lot more of them out there, more MY's etc... Therefore, the market has become WAY softer for the Turbo and the price came way down and into focus.
I say you are getting WAY more for your money, right now with the Turbo. But, oh what a great choice to have!!
Well, first off it has a Twin Turbo, these cost money. The AWD system is also costlier. Even the body and tires are wider on the turbo, making it more expensive. Furthermore, the GT3 is a stripped racecar with very little options standard, thus making it 400LBS lighter for the track. This also keeps cost lower.
The GT3 was between the C4S and the Turbo in price. This is one of the main reasons why the TURBO has the badge of SUPERCAR and the GT3 does not.
Dell, If you're telling me that there's no reason why the 2004 GT3 was $95k new and the 2004 Turbo was $125, you've lost me.
Cmon now!!
$99.9K and maybe I misinterpreted. Now I understand. The cost is b/c of the extra parts not b/c of some "my car is better than your car" pricing.
However, pre-owned pricing is killing the TT and the GT3 is still holding a greater % of it's value. Either way, still both fantastic cars and as I said I would love to own both.
Knew it was around $100k for the GT3, I'll defer to you on that.
If you compare prices on 2004 GT3's and 2004 Turbo's they are holding there value about the same (%-wise).
Ya, it is options/parts that make the car more expensive. Which car is better? For me I say Turbo, for you, obviously the GT3. I think the Turbo is the "better" well-rounded, all-purpose, daily-driver'ish SUPERCAR, and the GT3 is the better track car, nay maybe the BEST track car, IN THE ENTIRE WORLD!!!
I think this has been debated over and over and the concensus agrees. so....
PROPS to BOTH!
The TT and GT3 are different cars for different reasons....FYI Gant...MSRP of the 2004 GT3 was $99,900 vs TT at $118,400....so yes you pay more for Turbos, widebody, AWD, but the GT3 will have better suspension, brakes, is lighter....performance wise...to 60 mph, TT is faster by .3 seconds, on a track, the GT3 will be faster due to the lack of turbo lag, and the lighter car being a better handling car...top speed on both cars is the same....TT is more refined and has more creature comforts and will be easier to drive on a daily basis or long trips, the GT3 will be a better track car or weekend car for canyon carving....The GT3 will probably hold its value better.
Thanks you guys for all the input. Test drove both cars and here is my take. The GT3 is definately a race car. Weighs much less and has a much firmer drive. The interior is as plain as it can get. The only leather is the sport seats. The guages are white/silver which is a nice contrast to the all black interior. The Porsche cermic brakes are incredible and the clutch is real stiff compared to my C4S.
The TT is a more refined car. All leather black interior with contrasting stitching and sports seats with painted backs. The stearing wheel and emergency brake handle have the carbon fiber trim which is real nice. The ride is much softer and the clutch effort is much, much softer than the GT3 and even softer than the C4S. The acceleration is fantastic.
Since the car will be a daily driver I think I am going with the TT. If I had a second car to drive daily, I think I would go for the GT3. Both cars are beautiful and share cosmetic similiarities but at the same time are worlds apart.
