I tried turning on the lights and using the windsheild washer (with the engine on), but it doesn't appear that the headlights got sprayed (and yes, I checked that fuse too).

I've replaced the bulb...and that worked until I turned on the car, then it stopped again. I took it out, it looked fine so I put it back again but it still didn't work.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The left front turn signal doesn't work in my parents' MY2002. I've replaced the bulb...and that worked until I turned on the car, then it stopped again. I took it out, it looked fine so I put it back again but it still didn't work. So I changed the bulb again, and again it worked until I started the car. Again, it doesn't look burned but taking it out and putting it back in still doesn't work. I tried taking the bulb holder and bulb from the other side, but that didn't work either (though it works in the other side, as do the other 2 replacement bulbs). If it matters, the cruise control also doesn't work (about 1 time out of 50 starts it will kinda work in that turning it on will light up the green light, but even then it won't hold the speed). I've checked all possibly relevant fuses. Any ideas? Also, how do I check that the headlamp washers are working? I tried turning on the lights and using the windsheild washer (with the engine on), but it doesn't appear that the headlights got sprayed (and yes, I checked that fuse too). Thank you, Richard

POST 2Original post

My left front turn signal stopped working, and I asked my mechanic to look at it. He checked bulb, socket, and the connector to the light assembly. Diagnosed it as a short inside the assembly. I took it to the dealer (since I bought the warranty from them and figured it would be easier to push through a $2000+ fix if I went there), and they fixed it for $80 in labor. Turned out to be a loose wire in connector that they were able to correct.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ok, well I've got an appointment with the dealer come Thursday of next week. I too have an extended warranty ($100 deductible, but it covers everything), so that seems like the way to go.
