Gents, I have just received my H&R's. How many hours labor should I budet for just to fit them (exclude alignment)? One guy I spoke to was talking about removing interior panels to take off the rear struts??? Many thanks

Sorry... Can't give you an estimate, but the rear interior panels do need to come out to access the rear struts. Not a big deal really.

took me 9 hours alone the first time. you will probably need air tools to dissasemble the current shock assembly and reassemble with the new spring. if you have more than 50K miles on your car i suggest you replace your shocks at the same time. look at the Bilsteins. the interior removal for the rear shock access is very easy> it will not ad more than 10 min. andy

If you're asking how long it would take an experienced mechanic I'd say 3-4 hours. If you're a do-it-yourself hack like me, then double that. If doing yourself, you'll want either air-impact wrench OR spring compressers to get old springs off and new ones on. Break loose the top nut on the strut before you remove it from the mount if you're not using an air wrench. And make sure no kids or pets are around if you opt not to use spring compressors. I saw a guy almost kill his cat with a spring once. Not that that would have been a bad thing.

I did my own in about 4 hours...I'd say that's a safe bet. The interior pannel he speaks of just lifts off...it takes longer to move the seat forward to get back there to the pannel than it does to physically remove the pannel. Andy

If you call Porsche, they will say 9 hours according to their service manual labour rates. I had a ricer shop change mine for $200 bucks. Took him 4 hours.

Yup Now I light up like a christmas tree. I especially like the flames that shoot out when I kick it up a notch hehe.
