Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looks like a pretty good deal on a C4S, if it checks out. It's already got the wing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2002-...QQcmdZViewItem

POST 2Original post

That dealer has a good reputation in Arizona. They have their own techs that go over the cars thoroughly before the put em out. My brother in law bought his boxster there. (I had a salesperson there once tell me they change out every single coolant tank before they put it out for sale, leaking or not, just in case).

POST 4Original post

It's a tiptronic. This car deserves a six speed. Pretty enough though.

POST 5Original post

OK price. My friend is a dealer and gave me a list of prices for these cars. They're still making a pretty darn good profit at that price, especially on an auto.

POST 6Original post

You can get it cheaper than that. Cmon, a 4 owner, Red, TIP with 43k miles? It can be had for $40k!!

POST 7Original post

Bet you could get it less than that. His list had a dealer sold 40k 6-spd black for $42k.

POST 8Original post

You missed my edit, it's also a 4 owner!! That lowered my price to $40k.

POST 9Original post

I am shopping for a C4s Myself. I'm not a tiptronic guy and this car has more miles than I would like but I was interested in seeing the car in person because it is guards ged on black and I was curious about the wing. So I dropped the top on the Boxster and headed down Saturday morning. A few things about this car: I would say it is a pretty nice car overall for the year and mileage (2002 / 42,000) It is a 4 owner car per the carfax and (the buyer would be No. 5) According to the dealership it was last owned by the local porsche club president and it had a PCA sticker in the rear window to prove it. Going down the road this car is a looker. However up close I noticed a few things that a potential buyer may want to be aware of before traveling to see this car 1. Small door ding in the passenger side door, 2. Small ding in the drivers side door sill, 3. Some really apparent scratches in the paint next to the drivers side of the rear window (almost like someone slipped with a tool while they were replacing the window) 4. The interior looks to be in good shape but overall someone (probably the dealers detailer) smeared what looks like armour all (shiny wet looking & greasy) all over the cars interior including the leather seats, dash, etc. (I hate that) 5. the nose, even though it has a clear (or red) adhesive bra still has a number if small pits and marks. I guess this would not be unusual for a car of this mileage. The motor looked VERY clean as viewed only by opening the rear lid and had that familiar shiny looking stuff all over it. There ate about 25 photos of this car on the dealers website iautohaus.com

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the report! Always nice to know how they check out in person. Considering how pricey the mint ones are (especially imported to Canada), this will likely fall more into my price range next summer. I could live with the nicks as long as it passed the PPI, and the price was right. And I will be looking for a tip.
