I have a 99' C2 that is running rich at idle. The check engine light came on. I had it scanned and the the shop said that it needs a new Mass Air Flow Sensor for $480.00. Is this correct. Should I replace it or what can be done to correct it? Plus who cares about rich at Idle all I want to know is how is it at wipe open.....

Remove the MAF (search will tell you how) and clean it with electonic spray cleaner. As part of regular maitenence you should also: Remove intake tube and clean throttlebody with carb cleaner. Remove idle control valve from left side of throttlebody and clean thouroughly making sure window moves freely. Throw in a bottle of injector cleaner in your gas tank. Reset computer by disconnecting negative battery terminal.
