Those splines are perfectly clean, there is no rust or anything and there seems to be a little bit of old grease/lubrication on those splines but the whole thing is so tight that it's not possible to just push the halfshaft through the wheel hub and then use the axle nut to tighten.

Newbie mistake - that threaded part where you put axle nut comes out through that wheel hub so much out that you can easily pull that halfshaft using axle nut.

There's some tool for BMWs "Bav Auto CV Axle Shaft Puller" but I'm not sure if that could be used with Porsches.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I need replace the left halfshaft (front). I was able to remove the old halfshaft out of the wheel hub but now the question is how to get it back there. Those splines are perfectly clean, there is no rust or anything and there seems to be a little bit of old grease/lubrication on those splines but the whole thing is so tight that it's not possible to just push the halfshaft through the wheel hub and then use the axle nut to tighten. There are probably a million youtube etc videos how to remove the halfshaft but if you need a tool to remove that usually you would need some tool the pull it back or... ? There's some tool for BMWs "Bav Auto CV Axle Shaft Puller" but I'm not sure if that could be used with Porsches. So my question is - if you need to remove the halfshaft how do you pull it back? Any good tool available or some secret method Thx!

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Eh, spoke too soon Newbie mistake - that threaded part where you put axle nut comes out through that wheel hub so much out that you can easily pull that halfshaft using axle nut.
