Suggestion · Original poster

Yes, I disconnected and reconnected the sender plug at least four times during the suggested “smoke test” before reinstalling the reservoir (which had a leaky headlight washer pump), the removal and reinstall of which bordered on torture.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Help! While repairing leaking windshield washer reservoir (leaking pump) in my 2000 996 Cabriolet, I disconnected the battery, and now my CR-220 (Becker) radio thinks it was stolen. I pressed TP and recovered Serial No. Y5021121. Can anyone suggest the security code necessary to bring it back to life? Also, the low windshield washer light that tipped me off to the leak refuses to extinguish when I refilled the reservoir with NAPA "good to 20 below" blue fluid. Suggestions (other than fashioning a dime-sized piece of electric tape to put over the light)? John

For radio code https://www.renntech.org/topic/54183...comment-309461 For low washer fluid light...no idea. Did you plug the sensor back in correctly? Also check your owners manual for a hand written 4 digit code, and sometimes it is written on the options sticker in the frunk.

POST 3Original post

A service advisor at your local Porsche dealer can easily provide you with the radio code.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

DBJoe996: Thanks for the quick reply. Yes I looked everywhere for the code, was not with the manual or written elsewhere. Yes, I disconnected and reconnected the sender plug at least four times during the suggested “smoke test” before reinstalling the reservoir (which had a leaky headlight washer pump), the removal and reinstall of which bordered on torture. POST 5Original post

I called my local dealer and they gave me the code over the phone with no problem.

From the VIN I presume. Excellent! The dealer isn't always a POS and the choice of last resort. LOL!
