This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Some fool backed into the driver side door of my 99' 996 the manual lock is busted and for some reason the car seems to have gone into lockdown mode because the remote isnt unlocking so I cant get the passenger side open either!! Any ideas on how to get the car open?? Is there a way to reset the alarm or will it just not work being that the one side is so badly damaged?? My only option seems to tow the car but wouldn't they have to get in to unlock the wheel anyway?? So the car sits at the scene of the crime with me trying to figure out how to get in without causing more damage...I guess at this point it doesnt matter but figured I would ask before making things uglier then they already are

POST 2Original post

that sucks.... never had this problem before..... who know?

POST 3Original post

door would have to be hit pretty bad to not release. i would sugesst pulling/pusinh on the door while holding the unlock button

POST 5Original post

For all the car thieves out there viewing this thread... here is an easy, fool-proof way of opening locked Porsche doors even when the alarm is armed... If what you're claiming is true, then I apologize for the cynicism. But I get nervous when I see a member with 1 post asking how to open a locked Porsche door and defeating the security system.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Understood....but there are plenty of threads on here of people being locked out and ideas on how to get back in. My question was more along the lines on if there was a way to reset the alarm or at least why its locking me out....I know I should just call the dealer....I posted at 3am hoping for some help being that I couldn't sleep.....sorry guys!!! I'll post a pick....I'm not a thief

POST 8Original post

Yes, pics would certainly help, not sure if you can post pics without being a member? Maybe just a link to the pics would work. Sorry about your ordeal... sounds like a PITA.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry...but I don't find this funny!!

POST 15Original post

i don't think there is a key hole on the passenger side. can you lower your window with the key in the door? if so, you can crowl in.

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Went back to the car today pryed at the window poked and pulled at the door guess I moved something cause I tried the key and it unlocked!! Not sure why the remote isnt working but I'm in!! Now I just gotta get this fixed....thanks to those who tried to help!!!
