Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I would first add a lubricating sealant to swell the seals before replacing the pump.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I noticed a drop of calcified antifreez at the bottom of the water pump. which has a white trail leading from behind the waterpump pulley. There is no apparent coolant drip under the car but this just may be the beggining and I would like to cut if off before is becomes more significant. How difficult is it to change out the waterpump? It looks fairly straight forward but I have learned that most of the times when it look to easy they turn out not to be. Or this something that should just be left to a service shop. Thanks in advance. I am going to try to attache a picture. I give up with the picture...uuhhgg!!

POST 2Original post

You have to partially remove the cross member support (back) and support engine to remove the pump. I would first add a lubricating sealant to swell the seals before replacing the pump. This often provides a perminent fix.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Is there a specific brand/type you would recommend? Thanks

POST 4Original post

Any of the brand names. It is a liquid that comes in a pint bottle. I think Prestone is in most of the auto stores. OR: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002JM82W/...W&linkCode=asn
