Besides good'ol duct tape or replacing the whole thing, any suggestions for repairing a small hole in the bendable joint section of the oil filler tube?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Cut it. I'm serious. Cut away the segment with the hole, then replace with a short rubber tube. You'd have to pretty much cut away the corrugated sement, so that you have ends with flat surfaces to slide the rubber tube over and apply clamps.
I looked into replacing mine. The filler tube assembly is cheap, but the labor isn't. You'd have to bring the engine down to get to the engine block side of the tube. I did the cut and splice thing above. Works fine, looks good.
Change out, it's really not that hard.
Happened to me a few weeks ago, I thought about glueing it but my cut on the ribs was to big so I went out and bought a new plastic line.
All you have to remove is the alternator , belt and throttle body.
Step by step instructions on how to do this are on this forum.
Whole job start to finish took me 90 mins.
And it was the perfect excuse for me to work on my car .. just love it
You do not have to lower the engine to remove it. It doesn't take too long to replace it, but what I did because I wanted the filler tube shorter was to cut it where the smaller, straight pipe connects to the ribbed pipe. Clean it up, place a plastic PCV beveled slip joint washer on the smaller pipe. I forgot what size but it is standard, maybe 1 1/4 inch. When the sleeve is on the straight pipe, you will see that it can be pressed in the ribbed pipe and fits perfectly and tight.
Remove the 2 pieces and clean them, epoxy the sleeve to the straight pipe and let dry. Next, coat the inside of the ribbed pipe where the sleeve will be fit with epoxy as well as the outside of the sleeve on the straight pipe. Insert the straight pipe and smooth out the epoxy where they meet. Let it dry and you are good to go.
Are we talking about the same tube? The oil filler tube, goes all the way under the cowling? How do you get to the bottom end? You certainly can't get to it from the top, and I don't see how else you can get to it.
Palting - You may be thinking of something different. The dealer told me that they had to remove the alternator and thats why the labor was so expensive.
I'm sure any reputable Porsche service center would have gladly lowered my engine if they had the opportunity and made me pay dearly for it. LOL
Its not that hard, remove the alternator and its right there.
I broke mine clean off around the flexy part and electrical taped it so I could drive it to work the next day. Surprisingly it worked well for a long time.
Exactly, since heavier can not wick heat away as fast as thinner oils, the tube is simply overheated thus leading to cracks. J/K Now we have the final verdict.
