Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

If you're not using a CD changer, you can probably find an interface to work with the changer plug (replaces changer with the iPod I/F).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi. Sorry if this has been rehashed, but I have a 2002 996TT with the original PCM and an IPOD. Let's just say the FM modulators out there are just not ready for prime time in my opinion. I want a gadget that plugs into the radio and sounds good. FM antenna direct connect or some sort of AUX gadget would be fine. I don't need my cd changer...but would want the ipod to be easy to control. Is the becker cable an option? Anyone have the Harmon Kardon gadget? It seems to be discounted right now (dumped)? Other ideas....I have a local installer who will do anything I want for about 75$...and has pulled Pcars apart in the past. His work has won some audio car shows....(possible local people only) Anyway, dream car...want the ipod to work....TIA all.

POST 2Original post

I have the same thing. I tried the Denison Ice/link Plus with no success. Hopefully there is some way to connect it to the CD changer..

POST 3Original post

I'd say there's possibly two ways to do this. If you're not using a CD changer, you can probably find an interface to work with the changer plug (replaces changer with the iPod I/F). I have a Becker CDR220 and the AUX cable worked great and was a cinch to install, but I have no idea who makes the PCM or whether it's even an option... I'm sure others will chime in to help. Good luck!

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, I called around and Enfig was helpful, but not sure of any options.....so, I really thing there are two options for those of us with PCM 1.0 (our numbers are small and getting smaller, so as a market, no one cares about us...): 1. Burn CD's and or get a new system. 2. Get an FM transmitter unit or a cassette unit. I chose #2 and the sub-option of the FM transmitter. I lucked into a new unit, the Kensington RDS unit. Had it only one day. Sound is way better than my friends iTrip. It even has an on/off switch on the cigarette lighter part - saving the P-car's battery. Anyway, thanks all. One day my plan is to get a double DIN unit by Pioneer; or a PCM 3.0 unit....who knows. JB
