The car will not start. I get a fast ticking sound when I turn the key. The seat does not move and all the red lights are on.
I have the RemoteTop and SmartTop before and wonder if it is now confused. I just installed teh Dension Gateway 500 - that was working.
I thought everything was fine until I was going to start the car and got this fast ticking sound and the seat not moving. I checked all the fuses they look good. I currently have a hard top on.
I don't know what to do - help. I tried to disconnect/reconnect the battery.
Any suggestions? Disconnecting the Dension did not help.
It is a fuse!!! Don't bring it to the stealer before you check all fuses!! It happened to me....the remote top might have something to do with it...but first check you fuses.
I just did again. They all seems fine. The light now was on that the cab is down? I have a hard top. One of the windows is going slowly down. Weird?
Any idea what fuse it would be if it is the fuse?
Also, I measured my battery and it is down to ~ 10V. Is that a possible cause?
Thanks guys! That did it. It's my daily driver and only car so I was a little worried - need it tomorrow. I thought I had bigger problems for a while :-) I'm surprised how sensitive the electronics is getting enough juice. I guess I learned something.
Sorry for jumping to conclusions thinking it had to do with the new Dension install and RemoteTop - turned out that was not the case.
That clicking noise is the starter trying to engage apparently. I had the same issue when I left the ignition on too long when installing and testing a hands free phone kit. Battery was flat and a top-up charge sorted it out. Having said that I had to replace the battery six months later as it was not holding charge.
