Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Replace two front tires, some shocks, and had' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace two front tires, some shocks, and had' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Drove a 2000 C2 Cab today. It was good to drive stick again! Clutch, steering, brakes felt good, but I'm no expert, so I don't know if I could tell if anything was out of whack, unless it was really out of whack!
It's got 56k on it. Pretty basic options: power seats w/memory and the CD radio are it. Doesn't include the hard top or wind screen.
Body had typical small nicks, but no scratches or dents. Rear window in the convertible top had started to yellow. Leather was well worn.
Dealer says it's a one-owner car. Carfax says two, but I'm not so sure that's anything to worry about. He replaced the two front tires, some shocks, and had to do the RMS repair. Also did some general maintenance (fluids, etc).
What do you think? What would you expect the price to be?
I won't disclose the asking price until I get some feedback from you guys.
Thanks!
tom
Hard to say without many details or photos, but I would say 35-38k, depending on how long the dealer has had the car on his lot. Physical conditions can be subjective. Try autotrader or cars dot com for some comparisons, there are many examples out there, if you have any reason to question anything, keep looking.
does it come with a cpo ? warr? what other options? color scheme? i think the cost can vary quite a bit depending on what's on the car........ i say no more then mid 30's........... whatever you do and before you buy,...... PPI.....
Worn leather, 56K, no options, no hard top, no wind screen, no documentation, average or below condition, dealer lying or not aware of how many owners..... unless you left out all the positives I'd probably keep looking.
Their are so many beautiful, well optioned cars to choose from - including several on this forum.
Seems there are nothing BUT C2 Cabs for sale all over the net !Finding a coupe is harder! Why get involved with a higher mileage, average to below average car?? Keep looking!!
I kinda have to agree with the above...if you have enough sense to lurk around here...that means you have SENSE!
If you are looking...hang around a little...check and see if a member may be selling. You will get at the minimum some level of security and peace of mind that most members here are pretty honest and love their cars.
I did not read your location...but I know there is a black cab being sold in LA, So Cal...he is on this very board! And his car is 10xs in better condition with more goodies...check out BLACKCAB996 or send him a PM. GL on the search...
They finally put it up on their website:

$35.9K, so you guys nailed it!
I don't think that the dealer was lying, in fact he seems extremely knowledgeable about P-cars and how to get their history. CarFax on the other hand...
The dealer offers a 6k/6 month power train warranty, and a 1500mile/30day warranty for the rest of it (don't remember the exact details for "the rest of it").
I also haven't checked into documentation, so don't jump to conclusions there either. It's just a basic model with very few options. And with my desires ('99 to '01 Cab, blue with gray interior, and ?), there aren't
that
many for sale.
I might try to find out the service history from Porsche tomorrow, unless the winter storm screws me up!

Price is too high!
I talked to a Porsche dealer last fall about my MY2000 Cab with 32k miles and he offered $30K (before I started to mod the car). He said that the highest auction price for 2000 Cabs was $32K and this was last fall. Now it'll be around $30K or even below. I think that the example shown with the relative high millage and only limited options will cost a dealer not more than $27.5K which makes his margin $8.4K.
You're not a dealer but there are private sellers around with cars in better condition. They don't want to sell their cars to dealers for $30K, so you should be able to get a better car in the market for $32K - $34K.
I don't think it's too bad. You're looking at unusual color which is harder to find, the miles are average for a car of that age, might be nicer to have them be a little lower but still okay. It's got a three spoke steering wheel with silver crest which is a $800-$1000 mod, so somebody was showing it some love before. The wind guard is only a couple hundred to buy. And he's starting at $35.9, I'd throw him an offer.
I'm selling a car that has 10k fewer miles, no leaks, is still under warranty, the top, leather, paint, and rear window are in great shape, and it has pretty new tires. I'm asking $38,500 "OBO", and I know I'm unfortunately going to have to take less than $38,500. I'm in California, so you may not want to deal with a sale this far away - if you do, contact me. Otherwise, take this information to realize that the car you mention is overpriced and you can do better. Good luck!
On the one owner/two owner thing, you may not want to jump to conclusions. For example, if someone leases a car, then buys it out at the end of the lease, CarFax calls that two owners. If a car is registered as a dealer demo and then sold, again, two owners. I had the same confusion with mine. What seemed like too many owners turned out to be one guy who leased, then re-leased with a different leasing company, then traded.
