Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

22 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all! Need to change the rear tires on a carrera 4s asap and was wondering if anyone can recommend a good tire store with reasonable prices in the San Gabriel area or nearby?

POST 2Original post

Damon at The Tire Rack is a Porsche guy and they are a Rennlist sponsor. [email removed] Their prices are hard to beat. They were about $100 less per tire than my local Big O store. They have hundreds of recommended installers, including my local Big O.

Thanks for the quick replies! Totally appreciated!

If Culver City's not too far (30 minutes on a Saturday), Wheel Enhancement should be open and they carry lots of Porsche tires too....

POST 6Original post

Get a quote for your tires from TireRack and then go to America's (Discount) Tire and they will meet the TireRack price.....easy. Most any tire store will match the price at another tires store or TireRacks price. They usually do not stock the Porsche tire sizes, so they will order it for you.

POST 7Original post

Quotes source post: 7227567

Or just buy them from Tire Rack and support our sponser and Damon who answers all my dopey questions Blew a tire on my Saab last week, ordered from Tire rack and had the tire the next day! My local tire guy said it would take 2-3 days to get. I have been a TR customer forever.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Wow. Never knew that Tire Rack was so good and efficient!

POST 9Original post

+1000 for tire rack - after I bought one set there, I became a lifetime customer and tell everyone with ANY vehicle.... go to tire rack

POST 10Original post

Quotes source post: 7227820

They're usually about 3 days here in So Cal as the tires come from Reno. Unfortunatly with Monday's holiday you wouldn't get them until Thursday if you ordered today.... I'm pushing Wheel Enhancement as I know they have your tires, they're open today (I checked), and they are extremely competitive. The usually have almost brand new take-offs from their dealer base which they sell at a discounted price.... [phone removed] http://www.wheelenhancement.com/index.php?t=Tires

POST 11Original post

a good deal is a good deal, I have factory take off's on my truck... whith wheels I paid $400 for 17' suburban wheels and tires....sold the old wheels for $350 too that said, DO check mfg date of tires, if you do not know how, just google or youtube it... its important esp on performance tires (within reason.... they dont need to be a week old... but you do not want 8 year old tires even if there are "brand new")

POST 12Original post

Quotes source post: 7227768

I have never used TireRack, but if they can take the time to answer your legion of questions, then they MUST be good! < Tim thinks to himself > Damn, I know I am going to pay for that one!

Yea, I have this question, there is this guy I know.... RUT ROE LOL

POST 14Original post

I just got my Sumitomos from Big-O on Rosemead, just below colorado. Same price as Tire Rack.

Good to know! Thanks!

POST 16Original post

geesh - where are the pics of the new tires.... OH and be careful, they really are slick for the first few 100's of miles !!

POST 17Original post

Quotes source post: 7230526

I have to put 1k miles on mine and get them road force balanced before they are photo ready.

POST 18Original post

LOL I think mine have some tread thats seen a bit more action than the design was spec'd for We sometimes get a little sideways just to make sure we remember where the break loose point is bad me

POST 19Original post

I wore my rears down to the cords, but they lasted 25k, since I have a Tip. Ed, I don't really have an opportunity to break the 911 loose around here. Fun is flooring it on the on ramp before I have to slow down into traffic. But when I had a stick on my Boxster S, I found myself sideways a few times.

POST 20 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Found a place here in the San Gabriel Valley called Tire Central. Their prices can't be beat! I tried emailing that guy from tire rack but he never responded.

POST 21Original post

Quotes source post: 7247972

Tire central is one of the best places. I have been there multiple times with hi end rims and never a problem. Its worth a trip out- BUT they are BUSY and plan ahead. Ask for Donald and let him know Leonard with NSX/SL sent ya!

POST 22 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 7253162

Yeah, Donald and his crew are great! Really friendly and really professional! I recommend them to anyone who needs tires! p.s. the Tire Rack guy got back to me (like, after a week!) and his price for the tires were higher than what I got them for in Tire Central!
