Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm looking to get a set of sport seats for my car. I've had a very hard time finding heated full power sport seats. I'm less concerned about the full power as I am about the heat. Does anyone know how to tell if in fact the sport seats have power by looking? Secondly will I have issues installing non power sport seats in my car that has the full power and memory settings? Thanks for any help.

POST 2Original post

Try the Rennsport and Gemballa web sites. They have some really nice seats their catalogues, some of which are heated.

POST 3Original post

From switching GT3 seats in and out a few times, there are no major issues installing non-power seats in a car with bumwarmers and memory. The switches for the heaters will no longer light up (or operate, obviously), and the passenger side mirror will no longer automatically dip when you engage reverse gear.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

NNH- Thanks for the input, I'm more than happy to do without the power and memory, I actually prefer the manual seats. But I just would really like to retain the heat...with the targa it is really nice to have the top open and the seat heaters on. Any visual clues to be able to tell if a seat has heat? Thanks again.

POST 5Original post

Sorry, I can't think of a way just by looking at the top. However, if you look at the multiplug on your existing seats you should be able to identify the right wires to compare to new seats. The small blue plug at the end is for the seatbelt, so it must be one of the others.

POST 6Original post

My seats from Recaro have heat and a fan for the hot summer months. They are adjustable in just about any way and the only manual adjustment is up and back on the seat rail. Everything else (including lumbar) is power. Not OEM sport seats but very nice none the less. I highly recomend them.

POST 7Original post

very nice-- the tan and silver. any pics of the entire interior?

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Mark Those seats do look very nice. Beautiful interior.

POST 9Original post

Thanks...I took pictures of the seats so I could show someone else so I don't have any other interior pics...need to get some. I drive it daily and we have snow right now (heated seats come in handy on those cold morings)so it currently needs a good cleaning. Once the weather breaks I'll try to get some new pics.

POST 13Original post

Came with the car (P.O. installed them)...I think they cost around $1500 each though.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Porsche_Smile, thanks for the compliments, the targa has been a blast. Mark- Thanks for the lead on the sport seats, I'll take a look.

POST 15Original post

Mike: I have a set of Recarro's similar to those shown on this post that I'm selling. The seats are black leather, however, they are not power or heated. The seats are fully adjustable and come complete with the guide rails. I had them installed in a 2001 cab. which I sold, but kept the seats. I had the seats in the car for less than a month. They are basically brand you. Will give anyone interested a very good deal.
