Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Agreed to terms tonight on a certified 2003 996 Targa. Basalt black with gray, 6sp, 18's, sport-sound, PSM. Car has 12,000 miles and it's perfect. Thanks for everyone's input. Not picking it up until the roads clear up. For now I just have a lot of buyers remourse! Paid $52,500 which I think is a pretty good/fair deal. It's still a lot of dough to part with in one slug if you know what I mean. It's by far my biggest cash purchase on something that is surely a "want" vs. a "need". Has anyone had the same "Oh sh-t, what did I do??" feeling after the purchase?

POST 2Original post

Congratulations, when I bought my first investment property uh oh. Now lets see some pics.

POST 3Original post

Congrats...that "uh oh" feeling will go away once you drive it and take it one some nice twisties. The "uh oh" feeling will come back in a different context when you see a drop of oil on your garage floor. hehheee

POST 4Original post

Don't worry. It's probably the best thing that you ever did for yourself. And as far as a want vs a need, you did need it. Take my approach. Friends of mine ask me all the time how could I pay so much for a car. And I simply tell them that its more than just a car. It's my new hobby that I love to wash, detail, drive, and read about. It's not just a car, it's an adventure. Jay

POST 5Original post

I had the same feeling when I got my C2 last year, it went away after 1 week, I couldn't sleep the 1st night thinking about it. The P. was my first "real" car (I am 27) my other cars where just transportation devices ... congrats on your new baby.

POST 6Original post

Wow, sounds like a great car - congrats!!! A lot of people, including myself, have that uh oh feeling every once in a while. It's a risk vs. reward thing, I suppose. Plus, you've got it harder because you don't have the car yet. Give it some time, enjoy, and see where you are in 6 months.

POST 7Original post

I had to wait a week for my car to be delivered - it was like waiting for Christmas - it drove me nuts. No regrets though - you'll never look back when it arrives.

POST 8Original post

Congrats! You'll love the PSE (assume that's what you mean by "sport-sound"). The uh oh will go away the first time your butt touches the leather seats and you fire it up.

POST 9Original post

Had that feeling too but soon after...no regrets. Sounds like a nice ride. Enjoy.

POST 10Original post

Congrads on the purchase! I went through a bit of the "Oh Crap" but after driving the car, I knew it was the right thing to do! For me, I'm sure the remorse will be when I have to sell my 02 w/17K miles this year ... took me so long to find it only to have to let it go

POST 11Original post

Congrats, it may be just the best money you have ever spent on yourself, I know it was for me.

POST 12Original post

i had to wait for 2 weeks for it. the seller had to go on a sudden business trip and stuck for 2 weeks south. the wait was killing me. good purchase.

POST 13Original post

Welcome and Congrats on the purschase of what sounds to be a very nice Targa! BTW - it is customary for "newbies" to do an intro and post some pics. Well, you've got the intro part covered, so all we need now are pics. I know you don't have the car yet, so we'll put a little slack in the rope. However, if you wait too long to post pics, we'll pull the rope tight and hang you! Just kidding! (note to self: Add PUZZ1 to the "Newbie - Promised Pics" list. Follow up in a week)

POST 14Original post

Congrats on the purchase! I had the same feeling too, just about a year ago. All you need to do is drive it once and the feeling goes away. It's an amazing feeling to be at work and want to go home or go out to the car just to drive it somewhere. The acceleration, the steering, the brakes, oh, and the looks!

POST 15Original post

I had the same feeling but after the first drive....priceless. I had a grin for the next months and appreciated the car everyday. enjoy it, you only live once

POST 17Original post

Congrats! Sounds like a great car. I've had buyer's remorse (driving home) with my last three p-cars, expecially my 996. I still had my "perfectly fine" 993C4 still sitting in the garage at home, and had a 1000 mile drive to ponder on what I just did. However, when you wake up the next morning, and see your new possession sitting in its rightful spot in the garage, all that goes away !
