I moved the boot on the cylinder end out of the way and carefully used some small vise-grips right where the threading ends while I used a box wrench on the anchor.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The links to the pics for Loren's directions for the adjustment are gone. I have the locknut loosened, but can't figure out how to keep the threaded portion of the pushrod(that goes into the brake cylinder) from turning. Any suggestions?

POST 4Original post

Use two wrenches. Sorry, I don't have pics or remember the sizes, but I remember they are different.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Loren. Arenared, Yes, one wrench for the locknut and one for the "anchor". The problem is the bit of rust that is preventing the anchor from turning on the threaded pushrod that goes into the brake cylinder. I moved the boot on the cylinder end out of the way and carefully used some small vise-grips right where the threading ends while I used a box wrench on the anchor. Fortunately that's all it took to break it free.
