It's booked in for the 22nd (booked it the day I installed the bumper) - I can't wait.

The front bumper took me a while, but it was very straight-forward, and I took my time to align and adjust the fit over and over until I was satisfied.
Leading evidence: 'Install bumper) - i can't wait' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'hardest part of the job' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust fit over and over until i was satisfied' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Installed the pieces myself, but as oreganet said, the bumper is sort of a PITA as getting it all lined up etc is not the easiest thing to do with one person!

Getting those plastic fasteners out of the wheel wells for the first time was a real pain - figuring that out was probably the hardest part of the job...

I'd recommend the modification highly, although you should know that you cannot install the aero front bumper without modifying your aerodynamics - installing the front bumper will create more downforce, this will translate into a light rear end and instability at higher driving speeds.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

They did the paintwork for me and did a nice job - the only issue I had was with crazing of the clearcoat during installation and Dayton has offered to pay to have that fixed for me when I have my sideskirts installed at the dealer.
I was planning on doing either an 02 facelift with the GT front bumper or i can keep my 99 cab without the facelift and get a GT cup front bumper for my 99...... the latter is much cheaper and i rather go that route....... does anyone know where i can get my hands on one for a decent price? Can't seem to find them on Ebay....... thanks
I believe you are asking for the 99-01 GT3 Front bumper. try a google search for DPS Motorsports. I think they posted a thread about receiving a large shipment last month. About $1000.
I just installed one of the aero cup bumpers from DPS and have had a very good experience. Dayton has done a good job looking after me so far.

I've not yet posted pictures, as the job is not yet complete, but if you're interested let me know and I can post a photo of the front bumper.
I'd recommend the modification highly, although you should know that you cannot install the aero front bumper without modifying your aerodynamics - installing the front bumper will create more downforce, this will translate into a light rear end and instability at higher driving speeds.
Porsche recommends installing the rear wing to compensate. I am not doing that and will be installing the ROW M030 suspension to lower the car later in the year - this will restore the stability of the car by reducing the airflow under the car.
I second DPS Motorsports as well. Quality paint job and excellent paint match, all at a decent price. No "taco" or suspension mods for me, though. I'm looking forward to the high-speed lift-off.
Oreganet, you chickened out on the sideskirts DIY?
Yeah, I did. It didn't look complicated, but to be honest I was so tired after doing the bumper (plus annoyed with the crazing of the clearcoat around the sidemarkers) that I decided to let the dealer finish the job. Getting those plastic fasteners out of the wheel wells for the first time was a real pain - figuring that out was probably the hardest part of the job... that and wiggling the bumper in place to get the alignment - people who take their bumpers off on a regular basis are crazy - getting the alignment right afterwards was tough.
Other than the clearcoat crazing I was impressed with the quality of the paint match though - that was a nice job.
I did install the splitter underneath the bumper and I think that adds a nice touch.
It's booked in for the 22nd (booked it the day I installed the bumper) - I can't wait.
I third DPS motorsports....I purchased the GT3 bumper and sideskirts from Dayton with them painting the pieces. Installed the pieces myself, but as oreganet said, the bumper is sort of a PITA as getting it all lined up etc is not the easiest thing to do with one person! Two people will make it a whole lot easier.....
How difficult were the side skirts to do? They don't look bad, but the installation instructions look like a pain.
BTW, what's the rear wing that you have installed there? I can't tell if it's a Carrera wing or not from your photos.
The side skirts are easier than the front bumper. You gotta get at the inner front fender well and remove the rear plastic thingie at the front of the rear fenderwell. Its definitely a two person job as the factory side skirts have the two sided tape on the top that you need to have lined up properly on the first try....the bolts underneath are very straight forward.
The rear wing is a carrera wing. Also got that from DPS (thats a replica wing, not OEM like the bumper and side skirts)
Here's a couple rear shots of the wing....
Thanks for the photos of the Carrera wing.... if I end up with a wing eventually, that might be the direction I go.
As for the side skirts, yeah, I figured it was a 2 person job. Unfortunately, I wore out my helper with the bumper, so I didn't want to push his generousity by asking him to stay later to try doing the side skirts... he wasn't enthusiastic about potentially getting the alignment wrong.
A man's gots to know his limitations.
Nice pics, Wlee! I actually found the sideskirts to be more difficult than the front bumper. The front bumper took me a while, but it was very straight-forward, and I took my time to align and adjust the fit over and over until I was satisfied. The skirts, however, had crappy instructions, so I just ended up figuring out the install myself based on all the pieces and the wheel-well layout. That and the fact you only had one shot to get it right because of the adhesive. Overall, I think I spent 10 hours on the entire install, but it was well worth it. Not bad for a solo DIY from start to finish.
WLEE!
I love your car...it is the exact of mine! hahaha..you have good taste brother. Man we need to take some pics together somehow. Mine in Arctic Silver and yours in Seal grey...same kit, same wheels...same model...im telling ya! Good stuff!
Mr C4.......yours is exactly what i want. is that what you did or is that a cup gt3 version?
thanks for the help so far guys... pics would be great... do you guys think its better to go the 02 facelift route?
I had my bodyshop cut the holes using stencils of the RS vents. A protective mesh is fitted from underneath. I should still have the stencils lying around somewhere if you want them.
Good luck.
The DPS guys are great to work with. You may also want to try GMG, they have a lot of different options and actually race competitively, so they have real world experience.

Good luck!!
thanks everyday..... i was over at GMG.... they have quality stuff....... but price wise.....well.....i have an artic silver cab 99....... lots of places i talked to said that the artic silver is one of the tougher color to match..... does anyone with artic silver have this same problem....?
Wow,
Very cool pics guys. We have something special coming soon. Will update you when I know more....and pics to follow....
Cheers
