Suggestion

Yes the Turbo rotors and calipers are larger....you can upgrade a C2 to TT brakes but you need about 3K in parts just so the calpers and rotors will mount....add to that the price of the rotors and calipers and labor and you are looking at a 6K project....Most people upgrade with a Brembo kit that is a direct bolt on....you get the same size or bigger calipers and rotors without the need to replace your hubs, carriers and all the other parts.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

18 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello people. Is the size of the calipers different between c2 and turbo 03? Has anyone moded turbo calipers onto a c2? Need a reply asap. Thanx Regards // Norbert

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Holly smoke, I just thought it would need an adapter to mount the calipers, are u completly sure about this?

POST 4Original post

Yes...there are some that sell modified hubs that are welded and redrilled to fit the TT calipers and rotors so you dont need all the stuff...but again, you still need to rotors and calipers...so you might as well go with a kit made for your car, not a rigged up brake system..especially since the brakes are one of the awesome things about these cars....I find the braking power is excellent....in fact, if you are not careful, you will get rear ended because others dont have nearly the braking power...

POST 5Original post

Yes. Newport is spot on. The wheel carrier assembly is different between the narrow body C2 and the wide body TT. You would be better served with a Brembo or StopTech upgrade kit. But with that said, the question you need to ask is WHY you want to do this? Is it to "have" the TT brakes for looks? Or is it for stopping power? If you try to say stopping power then you have missed the mark since you have one of the best braking systems in the world on that C2 and nothing short of some race pads and proper brake fluid won't fix to get your eyeballs to pop out of your skull under hard stops! One more note. You would be adding more weight to an already stuffed pig. However, if it is the looks, then just paint them red. Lots of guys have done that here on the board.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well okey guys, how much are these stoptech and brembo kits? I want bigger for the look as Im not doubting the brake power of the orginal ones , I just like when brakes fills out the space behind the rim.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

And how much are these redrilled hubs? Any website with price of the redrilled hubs and stoptech/brembo ones?

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

How small should u go to fill the orginal calipers? =)

POST 12Original post

LOL....how big are your wheels now? I have 19" wheels and this is why I did the research...then I felt it was not worth 3-6k for the "look". So I painted my calipers, which now have the illusion of taking up more space....Why do you want redrilled hubs, a jury rigged braking system on a $70k car???? Plus what if the hubs fail? is your life worth the "look" of bigger brakes????

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey, am I on the right forum, what 70k car? Well I was just asking around guys, so keep it cool =)

POST 14Original post

just saying your cor originally cost around 70k...now you are asking about "rigging" bigger brakes on the car because the actual cost to do it right is more than you thought....furthermore your reason for the increase in brake size is for "the look" of bigger brakes, nevermind the safety of rigging the hubs....so I'll keep it cool, but again...what size wheels do you have? are the the standard black calipers? After painting mine, they seem bigger so it was an easy decision for me....save 5k and the headache....

POST 15Original post

With larger brakes you're looking at more unsprung weight, the Porsche stock brakes should be more than adequate, any reason why you want to upgrade?

POST 16Original post

Rob, day late and a dollar short He wants to fill out the wheel wells.

POST 17Original post

Here is a link to the upgrade with modified hubs....front only is $2795...that may be what the brembo kit is....again this is front only. http://www.sharkwerks.com/products.php?pid=112
