For those of you with a C4S in the northern latitudes who drive in the winter, what are you using for snow tires and perhaps more interestingly, winter wheels?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Any issues with salty slush and corrosion? I know it's zinc clad, but you know how much the road departments love to pour that salt on the roads.
Other low temperature quirks?
Thanks,
Jim
I'm using the OEM Pirelli Winter 240 Snowsport N3, on my 18's turbo twist 1 rims here in Vancouver. Had fun in the snow a couple of weeks back. It performed quite well going and stopping. PSM did kick in lots when you punch it. w/o PSM the back end sure loved to swing around.
PS on my 02 C4, not an 4s
The Bridestones seem to work fine, but remember ground clearance is a big issue. It's a marginal winter car at best i.e. any snow over 3'' leave it at home.
I am currently driving a 2003 C4S as a daily driver in northern Minnesota. My winter set-up was provided by Tire Rack. I use Mille Miglia 18" wheels (cup III wheels which replicate the stock summer wheels - turbo twists) with spacers on the rear, and Dunlop Winter Sport tires.
My assessment is that the performance of the vehicle is awesome, in fact it has better grip/performance than my Landcruiser. The only limitation, as stated above, is deep snow (i.e. >6-7"). I have experienced no cold weather related issues (my coldest recorded temp on the car's temp gauge was -38F !!!). I have seen no evidence of salt damage/corrosion.
I am completely satisfied with this car's ability to run all seasons. In fact I can't think of another high performance car with this much durability and all weather performance.
I will be selling my winter wheel and tire set up at the end of this season (if anybody is interested).
I drive a 2002 C2 in Toronto winter conditions running my stock 18" Classic 2 wheels and Continental Winter-Contact 810's. No issues, feels solid and have yet to leave me stuck. Seat heaters and PSM are an important part of the package...
I've also used Pirelli Winter Sports and can't really notice a difference between the tires, both being excellent. Just make sure your winter tires come off before it warms up, or they'll wear out in no time.
i had -29 c this week going to work. down in that range the F & C get close to a converge.
she kicks up nicely even at that temp and at least there is zero concern about road salt.
