Some friends liked that it was easier to use than the ones that need to be connected to the battery, and bought one for their cars...so far no complaints.

question: am using trickle-float charger on C2 thru the lighter socket. Will the same charger-socket setup work for other late model cars,ie:BMW,Acura? Are they set up to be charged thru the socket the same way?

Can't see why, so long as the lighter is live all the time. Don't quote me because I have an old Toyota truck. But on my old truck the key has to be on for the lighter to work, unlike my Boxster. Someone on a Toyota board said this is typical for Japanese cars.

I bought a second one that worked for me on a Corvette Z06. Some friends liked that it was easier to use than the ones that need to be connected to the battery, and bought one for their cars...so far no complaints. It still may be possible that it doesn't work for all cars, as I'm not an expert on this. I'm sure others that know more about it will gladly answer.

as long as there is constant power to the lighter socket it should not be a problem.
