Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I was snooping around in preparation of receiving my hardtop (won't be here for another week or so) and I popped opened what I thought were speaker covers and I see some heavy duty hardwares that look like headrest. Is that what it is?? Well, if that's what it is, how do I raise it? And I see that little red tool inside.. man oh man..if I take it out using a plier (can't get my hand it there), I'm never going to attempt to put it back in there because I drop it, I may be stuck with a rattle for life unless I drop the engine or something.. What's that tool?

POST 2Original post

Rollbars that pop up if the car flips!!! Dont mess with them!!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yikes!!! Thanks!!! Any idea on the tool?

POST 4Original post

The tool might be but I can't see it exactly the lock down tool for the hard top(Its like an allen wrench). It shouldn't be in there..I have used a See Snake Tool(Milwakee) that has a small video camera on one end and flexible are which you can attach a magnet, grabbing tool or a mirror. There not cheap about $200 but when you can't get something out..its a good tool and you can use it to snake anything electrical, plumbing if you want to look inside walls or line.

POST 5Original post

A magnet pickup tool could probabley get it...make sure you dont short those rollbars....especially if your face is close to them!!! End result could be the dentist or a funeral home.....YOUCH.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Jeebus...I'm glad I didn't tug on it too hard...

My kids and their friends love riding in the car!!

POST 9Original post

Those are the rollover hoops, and the tool is for if your top gets stuck, they are used to lower it. Instructions are in your owners manual. Here are some pictures of the hoops: They can come in handy: Everyone walked away unhurt!

POST 10Original post

he knows because he cleaned them......trust on that one! if the kids become a problem, add fixed back seats... that keeps the back seat wide open - wait that's dumb, now they fight for the front!

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK....so I'll just kindly put the cover back on and go about my business.... Thanks guys!!

POST 12Original post

LOL - good that you are poking around, shows interest in knowing what you have - its healthy and when something goes wrong or need maintenance you will not be afraid, and might even spot it before there is a problem.... thats all good

POST 13Original post

And.... Now the question is: How can you raise them as shown in the photo from Orient Express without doing any damage? Further... Is there any sort of service they need over time?
