Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Got my issue yesterday. They tested a 997S, Z06, Viper, SL, Jag, that Lexus convertible pretend sports car. The Porsche was ranked first with, surprise, the Z06 second. Strange, but somewhat encouraging that CR gave the Vette some respect. I have not read the entire thing, but I loved the complaint that the Porsche seats were narrow. They had the sport seats option on the car.

POST 2Original post

I read a 996 review one time that said the speedometer was useless because each tick was in 25mph increments. Um, that's why Porsche also has a digital speedometer.

POST 3Original post

LMAO......first time I sat in one it took a few sconds to see the digital readout.....I kinda thought the same thing.

POST 4Original post

boxster came in 3rd in the test 2 out of the top 3 spots belong to the p-car

POST 5Original post

Of course the digital reading is positioned such that a person of my height cannot really see it in the driving position I need for comfort. I basically drive by the gear/tach reading. Tehy should have put the digital reading in the middle of the tach instead of an outside temp reading there.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I really don't get why they just didn't put a 120 MPH dial and let it peg and rely on the digital over that. As it is, the analog dial is useless.

POST 7Original post

In my 2001 that's where it was, right under the tach, they moved it for MY2002+

POST 8Original post

Seats too narrow ? That's more of issue related to the average butt size of te American customer as opposed to the car itself. Porsche should develop different seats by continent. Small ones for the Far East, Medium for Europe and Supersized for the US

POST 9Original post

They moved the digital readout back to the tach for 997 cars, I'm told.

POST 10Original post

Well I cannot help it. I am 6'4 and weigh 215. I have a 34 inch waist so it isn't like I am a lard ***. There are only a few positions that are comfortable for me, and from none of them can a get a decent view of the speedometer.
