Suspected cause
If that's the case, they (10") are probably a 65mm offset and MAY fit with 17mm spacers.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The chance has arrived for me to buy the 03 Carrera S "Turbo Look" wheels and put them on my 99 Boxster. Does anyone know the offset though? Are 225/40ZR18 and 285/30ZR18 the right tire sizes? Will I need spacers? My car is completely stock, any input would be appreciated.
I'm not sure which wheels you're speaking off specifically, but the stock wheels for the narrow body cars are either 7.5" or 8" fronts and 10" rears. The offsets are usually 52mm (front) and 65 mm (rear). Those are approved tire sizes (that you list) for those wheels and the 996 but I'd think that you'd want less "stagger" for the boxster so the 8", 10" combo would be better than the 7.5". What are the stock tire widths for the Boxster?
You could maybe go 235 and 265 with those widths. Dunno if the offsets work for you though. What are your stock wheel's offsets?
They are the same design that comes on the Turbos and GT2s but not as wide.
Right now I currently have the 18 inch Turbo Twist. Fronts are 225/40zr18 and rears are 265/40zr18. Now for the offsets,52 in front & 65 in the back...I think, not 100% sure.
I saw your other post in the Boxster forum. Additional info here. Also, you do not have 18" Turbo Twists. The "twist" or "Boxster Design" wheels were only made in 17". You most likely have 18" Turbo Look I wheels, and your rears are 265/35 not 265/40. What you are talking about is probably what Porsche calls Turbo Look II. If the seller has 285/30s on them, then there is a good chance (no guarantee) that the wheels are 10" since I think the widebody 11" wheels came with 295s. If that's the case, they (10") are probably a 65mm offset and MAY fit with 17mm spacers. The 285s still may or may not fit. See other post. The other question is whether the '03 Carrera S is a C4S which would then have the 11" ET45 rears. I'm also not sure if a non-4 S was made in a narrowbody that year or if all the S'es were wide. In any case, find out what the sizes of the wheels are from the seller. Tire size is no guarantee either since the many guys will put 285/30s on due to tire availablity. The best case is that they are 10" ET65 which is the same as you have now if you have 65mm offsets but Turbo Look II vs Turbo Look I. Is it worth it? Until you know the wheel size/offset, you're just throwing darts.
