Just had the bumper on my 2003 Targa replaced with the turbo bumper and we had to "find" a place to relocate the sensor.

Mine must be broken, still get morons using the left lane for "low speed crusing"

I dunno but when you use it, make sure you use protection.

It uses the same mounting points as the wind deflector.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Folks,
I noticed a funky looking pod "thingy" in the front bumper of my 40th Anniversary. Pls see pic. Do you have any idea what is this for?
Is it an outside air temp sensor? Or with creativity... an air bag eject button? Air speed venturi tube taken from an F-16 fighter? Twisty road tracker? Or from an on-going thread out there... Muscle-car-going-faster-than-me detector? 0-to-60 time not-so-great-than-the-rice-burner-next-to-me?
Any idea would be great thanks.
Cheers.

External temp sensor.
Actually is a laser array, guaranteed pinpoint accuracy to vaporize any poseurs that dare to stay in the left lane, the Porsche lane!!
Yes that is the external temp sensor. Just had the bumper on my 2003 Targa replaced with the turbo bumper and we had to "find" a place to relocate the sensor.
Fast40th,
I believe that your thingy question is just a thinly veiled excuse to post a pic of your gorgeous anniversary edition 911. You have every reason to love that car. It is ALMOST as beautiful as mine. But then, I may be slightly prejudiced.
-Regards
The rocket launcher wasn't available for my 2000 Cabriolet so I had to go with a more conventional solution. It took some work but I am really happy with the finished product (patent pending). It uses the same mounting points as the wind deflector. My buddy and I are working on one for his 2000 Coupe.
Cheers from Virginia -- NRA Country!

I'd like something a little bit more subtle. Can you fabricate something that fits in the trunk with the barrel sticking out from the center radiator opening?
Hmmm... looks like I wasn't that far off from my initial guess...
JJS 03S:
You're right... my car is almost as nice looking as your car... but once I get rid of the orange side markers I may be in the lead though.
Alon:
Hey!... I just bought the car 3 weeks ago. But not to worry an order was placed last week for clear markers... can't wait to replace them.
Tool Pants:
If that's how your car's front bumper looks... I'm afraid of asking how the rest of the front looks. Any signs of what used to be headlights exist?
Programmatore:
I just know I won't mess with you...ever...ever... ever...
Cheers.

Hey Fast40th, I hope you know that's just a Photoshop!
I just got back from a week in NYC. A couple of guys on my team up there asked me whether it is true that most Virginians own guns (the NRA headquarters is in Fairfax, VA after all). I decided to humor them and told them that it is true, that I myself have a gun rack on my car and sent them that Photoshop as proof.
Anyway, it got me thinking about what would happen if Porsche offered gun racks as a Tequipment option. It may look something like this.

In that one instance, I don't think that anyone, Prog included, wants a picture of their car (clearly defined by the license plate) floating around on the net with an AR-15 surgical strike assault rifle in their back seat...even if it was only 'photoshopped'.
But that is one fantastic picture there, Prog.
