Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2001 C4 Cab with 8 way power seats and lumbar support. I had some work done on the seats and now the seat adjustment switch feels like it is empty (no resistance) and pressing has no impact. The other parts of the switch work fine and the angle works if I use one of the memory options so I think it is the physical switch itself. From reading the forums I'm speculating the springs must have popped out or dislodged while the seat was being removed and it's not electrical. Is taking the button off to investigate and replace what might be a spring a good idea or is it better to leave it alone? How do I remove the button without taking apart the seat?

POST 2Original post

Here are some hints on how to remove the seat bottom. Ideally you should unbolt the seat rail bolts and tilt the seat backwards, and then remove the seat switch by removing the two screws at the bottom. I highly doubt you will be able to fashion some sort of repair of the individual seat switch and you may have to locate a new/used replacement of the entire seat switch panel. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...nt-switch.html
