Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Discussions that report identifying a cause
1

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Reported cause

The drive there was OK, it was the drive on the track that was so bad.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I hope this doesn't count as posing, but I'm just curious to know how far you've driven and/or would be willing to drive to attend a PCA DE.

POST 2Original post

When driving my car, I have driven from northern Indiana to Road Atlanta (740 miles), Watkins Glen (530 miles), Pocono, and Summit Point (545 miles). Pulling a car on a trailer, I drove from northern Indiana to Sebring. I also was able to finagle getting my car hauled to Los Angeles from Indiana and then I drove it to Laguna Seca.

POST 3Original post

from Washington DC to Mid Ohio. That is one long trip . . .

POST 5Original post

308 miles each way - Carslbad, CA to Pahrump, NV (Spring Mountain) Now that's a long day - 4-5 hrs driving there, 6 hours on track, 4-5 hrs driving home in the LV traffic! Nice track though Chris.

POST 6Original post

Cleveland to VIR, 473 miles, then 3 days DE, then on to Hilton Head, another 420 miles, to join family on vacation. The back to Cleveland, 730 miles. Can't decide which was more fun. Blasting through the Virginia mountains, or blasting around in VIR, or tooling around in Hilton Head. Lots of Bimmers and Mercs in HHI, but not too many Porsches. The C4S definitely was a standout there.

POST 7Original post

I am about 8 hours away from VIR, Mont Tremblant and Mid-Ohio and we go every year to all 3.

POST 8Original post

I drove from NYC to VIR on a stock 914 seat.. that alone takes weeks (well, maybe about 8-9hrs, I just can't remember?) Also gone from NYC area to Mt Tremblant and Mid-Ohio (about 8-9 hours each?) No trailering either.. all done in the "track" car

POST 9Original post

Only OC to Willow Springs and Buttonwillow. Unfortunately, last time I learned the downside of driving instead of trailering, due to a loss of traction and shortage of talent If it doesn't count as posing to mention the Silver State yet again, I'll be saddling up for that 500 mile drive to Ely, NV in a few weeks

POST 10Original post

7-1/2 hours or so to the Glen 6 or so to Mosport 6-1/2 or so to Putnam Park

POST 11Original post

2.5 hrs Sebring 1.5 hrs Moroso 45 min Homestead

POST 12Original post

NYC to Mt Tremblant (7 hours in car), NYC to West Virginia 6 hours?

POST 13Original post

I flew from Northern California to Atlanta to do a DE at Road Atlanta. It was one of the best DE's I've ever done.

POST 14Original post

Orange County, CA to Spartanburg, SC for BMW Performance driving school.

POST 15Original post

I live 90 minutes from VIR, so I guess that doesn't count. :-p Longest drive was from here (Raleigh NC area) to Mid-Ohio, about 8 hours. Longest tow was from here to Road America (Elkhart Lake WI) which was 2 days, a little over 1000 miles each way. Both trips were well worth it. Worst was the 6 or so hours to Summit Point. The drive there was OK, it was the drive on the track that was so bad. Gawd, what a trashy joint that is! Nasty pits, horrible track, dangerous runoffs, cruddy pavement. I guess all those years at VIR has really spoiled me. Michael

POST 16Original post

NY (just north of the city) to Sebring (approx. 22 hours), towing a small tire trailer, in February a couple of years ago. 3 great days of DE. It rained all the way home until south Jersey when it started to sleet. Snow on the ground when I got home. Got stuck in my driveway (actually slid off my driveway!) at 10:00PM. Had to put tow hooks in my Boxster and my wife's BMW, then she pulled me back onto the driveway. I hear about it quite often! --- Tom

POST 17Original post

I hate driving to the track unless we're in a big cruise of people or on a trailer, so I did shanonville once (220kms) and most of the time its 130kms or like 70kms to mosport. Thats each way. I consider myself blessed to live within 2 hrs of so many tracks.

POST 18Original post

I have made the same trek. OC to Streets of Willow & Buttonwillow. ~150-175 miles.
