I've finally gotten the parts purchased and my Cab is going into the body shop next week to get the MKI nose and rockers installed (my wife will be so happy to get the front bumer out of our dining room!).

When I installed the fabspeeds on my car, I just tossed the old cans in the garage attic.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've finally gotten the parts purchased and my Cab is going into the body shop next week to get the MKI nose and rockers installed (my wife will be so happy to get the front bumer out of our dining room!). When I installed the fabspeeds on my car, I just tossed the old cans in the garage attic. However, a front bumer is a little bigger so what do people do with the old bumper when they install a new one? Mine has a small crack on the bottom but is otherwise fine.

POST 2Original post

Post it on the boxster (986) fourm since to them it is an upgrade to get the standard 996 front. Not sure you would get ANY bites from a 996 guy. FYI....when I upgraded my front to the MkI front I sold my old standard front to..........yup you guessed it, a Boxster guy. I was just going to toss it and was offered $100 plus shipping. FYI....shipping is NOT cheap since it is an oversize item and might have to go truck freight.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Good advice Dell. I'll do so. In the meantime, any takers in the Bay Area?

POST 4Original post

Joe - just put the MKI bumper on the dining room table, nose down. Put a couple of candle sticks in the openings and then you can serve hors' dourves from the ends of the bumper at yournext party. I'm sure your wife won't mind at all!

POST 5Original post

I have a spare in my garage covered with some bubble wrap. If I ever need it, it's there.

POST 6Original post

sell on ebay...did this when I converted to 02 front with turbo bumper...was sold within a week.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ebay's a good one too althought I was hoping to not have to go to that much trouble... Let's see what the Boxster gang can do first. Thanks!
