Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
You might check your local tool or hardware stores to see if they sell just the E12 you need because it is unlikely you will ever use the others.
Leading evidence: 'Check local tool or hardware stores' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check local tool or hardware stores' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am going to need to remove my front seats soon to install a harnes bar and harness mounts. I remember looking at the back ones and not recongnizing the pattern that might be torx. What is it? My car is a 2004 C4S.
TIA
Steve
I bought the new quick release BK fire extinguisher with 996 bracket. Which seat is the best application? driver's or passenger's side? My wife hates seeing it and I am tall so it would not bother me a bit if it were under my calves?
Steve
Unless your seat rail bolts are really tight .... then it merely turns off the Torx surfaces, and you have a REAL problem getting it out after that.
Ask me how I know.
In a pinch you can try a 3/8" socket. I find that 3/8" is a better fit than a metric socket.
If the bolts are really tight then you will need the E12 torx because the normal socket can eat up the head of the bolt.
Totally concur! There is no such thing as "in a pinch"
when you are working on a car. Half @ss jobs will always lead to more work for you than if you just did it right the first time with the CORRECT tools.
Now I see the correct tool. I do not think I own one of those. Are they commonly found in hardware stores or should I go to an automotive specific shop?
Steve
Sears sells a set made by Lisle for $20. I have this set and it is good quality. You might check your local tool or hardware stores to see if they sell just the E12 you need because it is unlikely you will ever use the others.
Your right you could destroy the head if your not seated properly on the bolt, but really since your taking them out your replaceing them since they are torque to yield faseners and porsceh recomneds replacement once removed right
I know there no such "thing" as in a pinch and you should have the right tools for the job but that doesnt always happen, especialy with alot of doit yourself guys who dont have the porsche tool to do the job "right"
