I took it to the local Porsche dealer and they replaced the ignition switch ($200 installed), but I had the same problem again this AM.

I considered a starter relay but was told it is in the starter itself and they would have to replace the whole starter ($2k, roughly!).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After the car sits overnight and I first try to start the car, I hear a "click" from the engine, but it doesn't turn over. After turning the key off and on multiple times, it then starts fine, and will continue to start normally all day long. It seems to be more of a problem in the colder weather. I don't think it's the clutch kill switch because I don't hear the "click" if I try to start the car without depressing the clutch pedal. I took it to the local Porsche dealer and they replaced the ignition switch ($200 installed), but I had the same problem again this AM. I considered a starter relay but was told it is in the starter itself and they would have to replace the whole starter ($2k, roughly!). I certainly don't want to spend that kind of green and find out they were wrong! Any thoughts? Thanks in advance! Scott
