I was wondering, you know the Porsche emblem is also quite nice and well known, could it be used the same way?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just thinking while cruising Ferrari Chat, one of the best additions to an F-car (although some hate it) are the fender shields (in Ferrari yellow color). There are basically two types, the sticker added directly to the fender (yuck), and the kind where they actually make an indention into the fender and add a shield with depth, creating a 3-d look. I was wondering, you know the Porsche emblem is also quite nice and well known, could it be used the same way?

POST 2Original post

gemballa has that option with their crest i believe. and ruf/techart don't have crests. i don't think they indent the fenders to do it tho.

POST 3Original post

If it wasn't done by Ferrari, maybe. I think it's kind of tacky.

POST 4Original post

+1. I like it on the Ferrari's. Kind of how lambo doors only work on lambos, but in a much smaller scale.

POST 5Original post

also remember, that the scuderia shields are different than the actual ferrari insignia. the scuderia ferrari sheilds are typically used on special edition cars, and on all the racing cars, (but are availible as an option on any ferrari) i have seen porsches with the porsche crest on the fender, and its just over done because its the same badge, repeated. correct me if i'm wrong, i dont think porsche has another crest that can be used.

POST 6Original post

They do, this is the one that should be used on the fender:

POST 7Original post

Nothing beats the BMW M1 for having too many symbols (Roundels in this case) borrowed from http://www.tuningpt.com/galeria/bmw/m1/m1-rear.jpg

POST 8Original post

If anyone thinks it would look good on your car, I say do it. Then kill yourself.

POST 9Original post

The shield looks very tacky even on a ferrari. I don't understand why it's desirable.

POST 10Original post

I saw a Ferrari badge on a Scion fender the other day. We don't need no stinkin' badges.

POST 11Original post

I respect your opinion, but have to disagree.

POST 12Original post

Trust me, that car looks great despite the badge, not due to it.

POST 13Original post

I really, truly honestly saw a Ferrari badge on the front fender of a C4S the last time I was in Chicago. Oh, I wish I had a camera It's nice on the Ferraris... as for my car... I'll pass

POST 14Original post

Looks fantastic on the Ferrari, not so much on the Porsche.

POST 15Original post

Less is more. Saw a Porsche crest on the rear of a Cayenne Turbo above the script. Looks horrible and EXACTLY like the crest Rob posted.....poser'esque. And of all places, know where I saw it??? Last months (Feb) Pano!

POST 16Original post

Something like this? This happened last summer at a car show... it was all in good fun with no hurt feelings. There are some better pics in the thread. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=74550

POST 17Original post

love them on a F...but a P is not a F..... and German's like understatement..while Italians have to make up for their small...you know what... maybe I am just jealous that I can't afford a F!

POST 18Original post

Agreed... On a p-car, debadge everything! cleaner lines...

POST 19Original post

what i really don't get is that people put oil company, tire company...(add your own) stickers to their car, bikes. I wouldn't personally. I don't want to be labeled any more than I already have.
