Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
He suggested shooting for 32-34 front and rear, and adjust slightly to suit my needs, but not to add or decrease more than 2 psi hot.
Leading evidence: 'Adjust slightly' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust slightly' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Suggestion
He offered to check my tire temps in the hot pits, but mentioned that the long run from T14 to the hot pits would cool the tires quite a bit.

Will check with my pyrometer but haven't used it before.
Recommend 32-36 hot and not diferentiating between fronts and rears

Question is they are recommending 32-36 hot and not diferentiating between fronts and rears- because it's a generic article.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Looked at Tire Racks "care and feeding..." tech doc. Question is they are recommending 32-36 hot and not diferentiating between fronts and rears- because it's a generic article. Our cars call for 36f and 44r. Seems to me I should initially go for a hot temp of near 32f and 36r. Wet weather calls for increasing the pressure. Anyone have some good cold/hot numbers to use for Cup tires beyond what the article said?
I agree with Bob. (Hi, Bob!) That's what I found best when I was using them. About 2 psi more in the rear than the front. Great tire, too bad you can't flip them to get more wear. They work out to be a little pricey compared to the RA-1, but they might be just a slight bit stickier, too.

There was a very good presentation by Michelin on the MPSC's. On the 996, 32-34 front and 37-40 rear, HOT pressures were recommended. However, they also recommeded more negative camber, about -1.5 to 3.0. How stock camber settings will affect the ideal pressures, I guess you'll have to figure out.
I bump the rears up by about 2 psi from my ideal dry HOT pressures in the wet. OF course, the AWD sets the C4S appart in the wet
. Here's how it looks in the wet at Mid-Ohio:
Wet pressures are about 5 lbs higher than the COLD starting pressure, To get 32 34 hot, you probably start at around 27-28 cold. On a wet track you don't get much heat so you start at higher pressures - around 32 to 33 and you will end up with around 34 to 36 hot.
Palting in spite of what Michelin says my car works best at 32 34 F-R hot. Anything over 36 results in loose handling. I run neg 2-5 camber if that matters.
Carlos! How ya been!!
Regards,
Gonna start with 28f/30r. Expecting cold and wet conditions. Hope to end up with 33f/35r from that. Will check with my pyrometer but haven't used it before. I thought I was supposed to work towards equal temps in the middle and edges but maybe not according to some posts. 180-200 sounds like a number I should be seeing at least on the outer edge.
I gotta get me a pyrometer. The sweet spot for the MPSC is 160-220.
I hear 'ya, Bob. Those pressures are just recommendations from Michelin. What works best is what you personally like best. I like my rears at about 38 psi HOT in the dry. I'm heavier, and it helps rotate that AWD of the C4S better.
At the Road America Labor Day DE, I asked the Michelin engineer for a pressure recommendation for my TT. He told that STONE COLD IN THE MORNING (it was about 55 deg) the starting pressures should be 26 psi both front and rear. He suggested shooting for 32-34 front and rear, and adjust slightly to suit my needs, but not to add or decrease more than 2 psi hot. He offered to check my tire temps in the hot pits, but mentioned that the long run from T14 to the hot pits would cool the tires quite a bit. So I started at 26 all round and got to 32/34 after the second run.
YMMV
