anyone done an out of warranty windshied replacement? any idea of the cost? Can anyone recommend a shop in the Metro/NYC/NJ area? What started out as a small crack (inside the glass) just behind the rear view mirror has gone completely from the top header to bottom, right down the center. I'm also concerned that this will happend again since it wasn't the result of an outside impact of any kind.

Ditto on price! Just had it done after owning the car for just a couple of weeks. My local glass shop orders from the dealer, including the new seals, etc. (important) It went it beautifully, NO issues, and its like looking thru a new car. Only bummer was that my insurance, unlike lots of other states or policies, I had to pay a deductible of $250. All-in-all, in the non-traditional sense, a GREAT MOD!

any clue why it cracked to begin with? body flex? low air pressures? $750 sounds very reasonable. anyone else feel free to suggest a shop in New Jersey. Thanks.
