Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

bought the b&k fire bottle bracket that mounts to the frame under the driver or pax seat. Ok, what's the deal with puilling the seat out. I see only two bolts, they are in the seat traks on the back part of the seat and who knows what socket might fit- they have a weird hex head. Thought this was gonna be easy...

POST 2Original post

I believe it's a torx socket. I got one when I ordered the smart remote module. Not sure what size it is.

POST 3Original post

They're Torx bolts. There are also two bolts at the front of the seat tracks. However, it is possible to fit the BK extinguisher mount without removing the seat if you take it to its highest position, although it's such a hassle that it might be easier to remove the seat altogether (ask me how I know...)

POST 4Original post

Use an E12 Torx Socket to get these bolts removed... I had some trouble finding this socket, but purchased one from a NAPA store. Sear may sell a set as well, else you can find online.

POST 5Original post

The front seat bolts are located under plastic covers that slide over the top of the seat tracks. Look closely, and you will see a small, flat "finger" of plastic about 1/4 inch wide. Gently pry up this piece with a small screw driver and slide the entire plastic covering forward and off. You don't have to pry it very far. DON"T BREAK IT. You will now find the two front mounting bolts. When finished installing the seat, just slide the covers in place until they "click". Regards,

POST 6Original post

It's also worth noting that these bolts aren't round, there sort of three-lobed. They are designed to cut threads, and will do so, making it particularly easy to cross thread them.

POST 8Original post

in a pinch you can use regualr 6 sides sockets i think an 11 will wrok on those

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys. Used a regular socket with absolutely no issues.

POST 10Original post

I installed it without removing the seat. Wasn't difficult at all.

POST 11Original post

JB, Do you have a photo of the final install?
