I would recommend the mats and the company for their service anytime.

Another upside for that particular "career change" would be that you would have to "sample the products" you are offering in order to be able to guarantee complete customer satisfaction!

I have been looking at Lloyds mats to replace the ones in my black interior car.

The mats I got from Loyds for my past Corvette lasted for years with minimum wear so I do not see a long term use for these without having to replace at least the drivers side.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Better than OEM yes, but my follow on response is that they are still not great.
I have been looking at Lloyds mats to replace the ones in my black interior car. Are they worth the money and effort to get over the stock OEM? I see they are now licensed to put Porsche logo on so I was thinking to have the name "Porsche" done in silver on the black mats to go with the Polar Silver exterior. Anyone using them, or have seen them in person? A search shows some think the black doesn't match well. I hate to order them and wait 3 weeks to find they are not an upgrade to stock.
Thanks
bill
That's funny!
My OEM mats fadded where the heels of my shoes and the pedals meet. Do your black Lloyd mats do the same? My mats are only 6 months old.
[QUOTE=woody-77]I have black Lloyd mats and they match the OEM black carpet.
Maybe some of the people who their mats don't match have a faded interior?[/
QUOTE]
Thanks, the match was part of my question. My other, are the Lloyds superior in quality and plushness (is that a word?) to the OEM's?
Bill
PS If plushness is not a work and I don't think it is, do I get credit or demerits for inventing it?
yes they are and much nicerand better and delivery is only about 10-12 days....try suncoast, noel....good luck...dual logos with 2 differernt colors looks real nice....
From what I remember the "plushness" is better than OEM, can't say for sure I haven't had OEM mats in the car in a while.
Yes, my mats have faded a little where my heels rest.

has this little wizard to configure floor mats. They have Porsche interior colors in it so Graphite Grey matches the Porsche Graphite Grey interior.
the loyd mats make your P look like it is pimped out!! Not a good look for a sportcar..I would buy new OEM mats...I made a big mistake..because the mats look like "bathroom" mats...
I personally think they look anything BUT bathroom mats.
They look damn sweet and I get nice comments about them all the time. I threw out the OEM matts that came with the car.
And I got mine black - match the carpets perfectly
Nicholas - Did you get the Heavyweight mats? If so, that could be the reason that you think they look like bathroom mats. The Ultimats have 5/16" pile and the Heavyweight mats have 1/2" pile.
The folks at U.S. Speed tell me the 48 oz. mats are too thick for the embroidery designs - you would have to go with the leather insert. They recommend the 32 oz. version. Shipping to Canada is a little pricier at $30. They look great on the website and in the photos. I am going to order a set of 4 (black with silver "targa" lettering to match my interior), so here's hoping my P-car doesn't end of looking like a pimp mobile....my wife would frown on that career change, but I hear it pays well.
Yes, I have heard the pay is pretty good. Another upside for that particular "career change" would be that you would have to "sample the products" you are offering in order to be able to guarantee complete customer satisfaction! It would be a tough job, but hey, somebody's got to do it!
I went ahead and ordered a set of 4 mats with the "PORSCHE" logo in silver on the front, and a small trunk mat with the same logo. I think they will be fine and appreciate all your comments. Long delivery time though.

I made the mistake I guess to go for the more expensive (thicker ones) ....I am telling you
BATH MATS...this was the 1st words out of my wifes mouth...I said she was crazy, but (not so) deep down inside she is right!!
I want to take my shoes of everytime I get into my P....and feel the Plush between my toes.....open my shirt a couple of buttons more and wear big bling bling sun glasses!!!
nicolaas....and so what is wrong with that? i think you should get a cool set of pedal with rubber nubs keep the plush carpets in and drive the car barefoot....try it no kidding i have.....a blast......
I got mine from us speed, they are just a middle man.....I made the mistake of taking the thick ones...and trozen....I got the rubber nubs in my alu pedals...but have to try the massage threapy technic mentioned...maybe some scented candles/oils and a little thai girl to massage my back while going 125MHP with my now lowered P.....got it lowered today( I know off topic, but am very happy with it) tomorrow front conversion to post 01 model!!
dont knock it before you try it...this past summer top down hot summer day...get into the car with no shoes on in my ultra clean matted garage, nice pedals new carpets and slam it....the sensation thru my toes were awesome...ok fine i am a freakazoid! i have not seen the difference between the ultra thick and the other grade so i cannot tell which is better to order
I wasn't knocking the "without shoes" thing, because my feet are always superhot especially during the summer..and I have driven without shoes...but not with my nubby pedals yet!!
Better than OEM yes, but my follow on response is that they are still not great. Mine showed wear in less than 1000 miles with the carpet looking worn where I have my right foot. The mats I got from Loyds for my past Corvette lasted for years with minimum wear so I do not see a long term use for these without having to replace at least the drivers side. My attempt to fix this is I have the old mat I place down when I am driving with my combat boots and remove when I have stopped. I also keep my rubber mats in the front trunk in case of bad weather.
riad,
where are the matching his and hers bath towels?!? jk! it does pop with the red S.
i just ordered oem from sunset, but have a feeling they'll wear out quick.
doesn't anyone make a reinforced driver side mat that looks decent?!
I got the Lloyds mats and the black colour doesn't match the OEM black interior. Plus they're a little TOO plush for my taste. It's back to OEM next time for me.
I received the mats last Friday and they are fine. Plush and look very nice. I was not sure that I liked not using the stock hold-downs, but after putting in the Lloyds system I see it is much better. Also the black is a deeper color and does not match per se, but looks good anyway. As the nap is brushed one way or the other or you look at a different angle it looks much closer, so I am happy with them.
The trunk mat did not fit. It was about an inch too small front and sides. I guess it was made for the C2? which has a smaller bottom area to cover with the tire. I had one but no photos and I cannot remember. Anyway I contacted LLoyds. They asked me to send a template and they will build to fit and print the logo I asked for no charge, keep the first one too. So I carefully prepared a cardboard template that fits perfectly to all the curves and sent it in today. I'll see what comes back but I am comfortable it will be a good fit and look.
So if you need a truck mat for a 996 Turbo they should have a pattern next week.
Bill
Just got off phone with Jeff @ sunset. He says porsche just discontinued grey mats, supposedly going with black from now on. I'd prefer to go with a mat color that matches my space grey interior, who's got the best price/service on Lloyd mats?
Monday I received the new, cut to my pattern, trunk mat and it fits like a glove and looks great. I would recommend the mats and the company for their service anytime. As I stated a couple of posts ago, they now should have a good pattern for the Turbo so go for it.
Bill
I ordered a full set of TechArt mats: 2 front, 2 rear and one to cover the rear seats when they are down (which is all of the time). They are black with red leatehr piping and red embroidered turbo. I will post some pics when I get them. Tried a new place...eurorev (ask for Tim) and they were great...very reasonable price also.
Anybody here ever tried cocomats (
www.cocomats.com
, you get what you pay for, these are the best ones). Taking it back to the old school, German style. I have a set in my 1985 Benz.
At first glance, I thought 'yuck!'.
But, on reading more about the product, I have to admit that I am very intrigued. They are clearly very high quality and the manufacturer's FAQ shows that there is a lot of love behind it. I guess it really depends on whether it looks plastic-like or plusher. I'll likely ask for them to send me some swatches to see what this product is really about. But I love the fact that they are heavy and stay put tightly (2 carpets weigh 10 lbs and GT3 drivers will surely avoid them like the plague).
FTR, my grandmother's 1973 Mercedes SL had 'cocomats' and some of my father's early Mercedes had them in it and I do equate it with the classic german style and feel.
Who knows? Could be my next carpet replacement. Thanks for the heads up, Marlinspike.
Well, they certainly are heavy...though amongst this crowd that might be a minus, but they stay put like nobody's business. I wouldn't call them plush, though in black they might look a bit different. You can see mine here (which might make you say yuck unless you are REALLY into old school cocomats...the single color ones might be more palatable to most people)

For what it's worth, I read on the MBCA forums that he supplies the cocomats for Mercedes' museum. You can ask for them without the rubber pad in the driver's mat, but he told me that if the car is a daily driver your heel will most likely dig into them. The rubber pad is the perfect kind of rubber luckily. I was reluctant to go with it since I thought when wet my heel would slide around and when dry it might be too sticky, but it's not either of those things.
Also, they are super easy to clean. I should add that the fit was perfect, the one in the back closest to the camera looks like it overlaps more than it should, but that was just my putting it down sloppily. I should also add all the stains in my carpetings have since been removed...now I just need to get to the leather. and wood.
