Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I need to mod my brake wear sensors so they stay off all the time. I think you have to solder some wires together. Anyone know exactly?

POST 2Original post

cut the wires back and twist them togeather. You can solder them if you wish. They sensors work when the loop is broken.

POST 4Original post

Used liquid electrical tape to cover the exposed ends, just to prevent any shorts etc.. I don't know what would happen if these went to ground.

POST 5Original post

Pull the sensors out of the currently installed pads and tie wrap the harness up out of the way....why destroy the sensor harnesses?

POST 7Original post

If the sensors are junk already, no loss. I got an old ng set from one of the folks here and used them. There are plenty of old sets available if you ask, your dealer probablly has a barrel full, they would be happy to give you one you can cut up. Solder them if you can or use wire nuts. If you are soldering challenged, send them to me I'll do it for you. It'll only take 5 min.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Nice guys thank you, I cleaned up my garage last night and found all 4 of them. I have two choices it looks like, 1. Plug them in and then zip tie them up complete. 2. Plug them in after making them little stubs, twist the wires together and cap the end. Hmmm, they're fine so I guess I can just leave them complete. I checked yesterday they are like $20 bucks each.

POST 9Original post

If they are still good....zip tie out of the way If they are not good....cut, reconnect, zip tie
