Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey all,
I got the results of a PPI and wanted to get some feedback from you guys. Here is what I got:
1) Need to change the chain adjuster seal - $30
2) Replace water reservoir tank and cap - $280
3) Replace Belly Plate Covers - $150
4) Replace Dash Board Sensor - $195
5) Replace 2 front tires.
These prices do no include labor, and he quoted me $300 + the above costs to get this all done at his dealership. But since he is selling the car "as-is", I am not sure if these prices will be the same at my local dealship. Are these things critical to replace and do the prices sound right? He says there are no engine problems.
Any feedback or advice is greatly appreciated.
Vince
1) Need to change the chain adjuster seal - $30
If it is just weeping, and not actually leaking, no big deal, totally optional
2) Replace water reservoir tank and cap - $280
This is a DIY. If the tank is not leaking, then it is a nice to have.
3) Replace Belly Plate Covers - $150
I assume that these are the black plastic covers on the bottom of the car? Are they cracked, scraped or broken? No big deal, totally optional
4) Replace Dash Board Sensor - $195
What is this sensor do? Need more info.
5) Replace 2 front tires.
If the fronts are down to 3/32, then the rears are not that far behind. Take the tires as is, and get you a new set of your choice.
These are all really minor things. Sounds like brakes, clutch, RMS are all fine?
I would not let these things hold you back if you want the car.

I agree if that's all they came up with, you have a car in great condition, and the prices they are charging are reasonable, especially for a Dealership. As far as tires are concerned, it's best to develop a relationship with a tire Dealer, because you'll be visiting him frequently if you drive your 996 hard.
I got some more details:
There is mark in the YES checkbox by the item "Are there any oil leaks?" There is a note saying that the engine has a small oil leak coming fro the chain adjustment seal. The part is only 18 bucks, but is this a DIY fix?
There is also a note that says the Engine has a coolant leak. You can smell it. Needs a new coolant cap and bottle. Is this serious?
The dash sensor that needs to be replaced is the temperature sensor. Is this a big deal?
The parking break is out of adjustment. How critical is this.
Should I still move forward with this?
Thanks again.
