I didn't have any issues when I swapped a four spoke with a three spoke wheel and the airbag was an unknown used one from Ebay.

I replaced my old cracked wood veneer steering wheel with an all leather one. Just the wheel, not the airbag. I reused my existing airbag. Swap was easy but I now have an airbag failure message and light on. I did a search and some folks said they had to go to an Indy to reset the light with a durametric. Does this sound right?

Yes. I followed the Pelican instructions. Horn works fine and it seems hard to mess up the connections. There�s only 3.

Ok, after some more reading I think I have my answer. I took the old wheel off last night. New one arrived today. I hooked the battery back up overnight as I was paranoid my wife would go into the garage and close the frunk. With the battery disconnected I�d be locked out. I disconnected the battery again today when installing the new wheel. The DME must have stored the code when I temporarily hooked up the battery. Thought it would turn off when the new wheel was all buttoned up. Guess not. Used my Durametric to reset the light. All bueno!
