Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

How do I unattached. Squeeze and pull, twist, other? For the second one, could I just pull the hose off? Could I use heat? Thanks.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

same for both? Should I expect a fight? What are they for?

POST 4Original post

First one is fuel tank vent, the second on I don't think you need to remove it. It's been awhile since I've done this. I highly recommend you use the Pelican parts website. Their tech section has all your answers!

Im 58 with normal size hands. I cant squeze those tabs in. There must be a tool for this. I spend more time with connectors. Obviously a problem. thanks for the link. I saved.

POST 8Original post

The second photo is of a fuel line disco. Fuel will come out when you take it off.

^^^ Watch out - There should be pressurized fuel in there (if indeed it's a fuel line...)! Wear safety goggles - maybe wrap a rag around the fitting before squeezing...

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Funny, my sons Miata wont start. Super damp out. I did 4 or 5 connectors. All popped right off, nothing stuck. Older, more miles. Maybe Miata is the answer. 🙂 Thanks for your help guys.

POST 11Original post

Are you dropping the motor completely or just lowering it to the cross brace? If just lowering it you don't have to disconnect those lines.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just lowering. Thats good to know. Ill just leave for now then. Thanks.

POST 13Original post

Just go real slow and double check all your hoses and wiring to make sure nothing get pinched or cut. Good luck and keep us posted...

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So Bill, if I lower the motor 1.5 to 2 inches I shouldnt need to disconnect those two lines? I hope that is the case. I would hate to break one. Thanks.

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Also, when I lower motor; how much do I jack motor back up to put the nuts back on? I emptied coolant tonight. Got off all the hoses except one towards the middle of the car. Need to remove level meter too. Ill wait until I lower the motor. i will lower 1.5 and try to get the two above and hopefully it will come out.

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sorry, anyone have torque for those two nuts when I put them back on? thanks
