Some guys like it that way for their bikes since you can also change fuel and ignition maps using the laptops with all the fancy stuff race bikes have now.

I hadn't thought of that, but I can use my laptop for the Durametric and manual.

My plan is to mount the 52" to the wall for use with racing sims and music recording software.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Purchased an 02 996 C2 in July of 09 with 44k miles and not a scratch, ding, or stain for 28.9k. I traded in my 07 MINI Cooper S. The MINI was a fun car but after owning it for a couple of years I wanted more power.
Even my wife loves the Porsche and insisted I buy it. I expected a hard sell - boy was I surprised. Until recently the only issues I've had was the tires needed to be rebalanced and I had to have the keys' internals replaced. I also had a B&M Trak shifter installed - it's a short shifter with a long handle to position it closer to the steering wheel.
Last week the CEL lit up and now it's in the shop having the cam acuator serviced. Should be ready tomorrow. Once I finish remodeling my garage I plan on doing as much of my own maintenance and repairs as possible. I'm planning on a MaxJax 2 post lift and a 52" LCD TV for loads of weekend fun.
Hopefully I can contribute something useful to the forum.
Very nice looking 911 sandersd. Nice color. The new garage will enable you to tackle lots of future mods and maintainance, welcome to a great forum.I'm envious about your new lift system, sure beats laying on the cold cement floor.
Oh yeah, I tinted the windows also: 2% at the rear and back sides and 35% on the driver/passenger sides. My MINI was tinted the same way (it had a glass sunroof). Both were purchased in July and it took approximately one day before I decided I MUST have the windows tinted with heat-rejecting film. I like the dark tint on the rear to kill the glare at night and because no one can see into the rear of the car when it's parked. Plus, I think it looks
cool
(pun intended).
It came with Pzeros and they'll need to be replaced in the next 3 months or so. I'm thinkin' I'll try the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s next. I'd love to powder coat the wheels a charcoal color - black would be a bit too stark for me. As for tweaks I'm in no hurry, but I do have a list:
strut bars
coil overs
EVO air box
seats
roll or harness bar
5 pt harness for DEs
track wheels and tires
blonde (subject to wife's approval)
This year's calendar includes HPDEs at TWS with the local PCA. I've done several autocrosses but don't particulary care for it - it's more like an obstacle course than track racing and working 3 hours for 3 minutes of seat time is not a productive trade for me. It does help find the limits of a vehicle's performance at low speed.
I forgot that. I like the sound of the M&K mufflers. Been thru all the youtube vids and I like 'em the best. Regarding the strut bar: people said the same thing about the MINI but it made a very noticable difference. I know a MINI is not a Porsche, but I expect a similar result.
I'm not sure my wife will appreciate your remarks...
Yah nice car. And tell me about that heat in texas needing control with tinting. FT Hood was roasting when I was there.
The car lift is a great idea for keeping things fixed up. A 52" LCD you are going to have to explain further? If it's for the garage then make sure it has a rolling table stand and PC input so you can have the service manual PDF displayed making work easier. Some guys like it that way for their bikes since you can also change fuel and ignition maps using the laptops with all the fancy stuff race bikes have now.
Your wife could probably buy a brand new porsche in a year if she would offer to sell talking to other guys wives about their husband porsche purchases. You've got a fantastic wive there. Great job finding her too.
Thanks for posting the pictures. Sure makes everything beautiful.
Great idea using it to display the manual. I hadn't thought of that, but I can use my laptop for the Durametric and manual. My plan is to mount the 52" to the wall for use with racing sims and music recording software. My wife is a classical pianist, my son is into Satriani, my daughter writes songs, plays guitar and sings, and I do the same. Originally I was going to make the garage a recording studio, but that didn't work out: I need a place to build stuff. But I am planning to do some recording and playing guitar, etc. I'm just about finished with the remodel - I just need to install the drop ceiling. Can't wait.
After buying the 911 I dabbled back into Forza 2 and like the flying lizard cars. Just hate not being able to start a carier with the 911. Any good xbox360 games that race the 911 from the start?
Forza 3, F1, Ferarri Challenge, Rfactor, Live for Speed, GTR Legends. I also want to get into iRacing after I have everything setup in the garage. I want a cockpit to mount the wheel/pedals and shifter for a more realistic experience. I recently purchased a fanatec racing setup:

Absolutely fantastic wheel and pedals - I bought the alumunum clubsport version. I
did not
buy their cockpit but wouldn't that be nice.
. A bit pricey for me.
