Sadly, Ruf doesn't actually make a set (which speaks volumes about their thoughts on the ability to improve upon OEM design but that's been argued elsewhere and I'm still considering them).

Or, what about using the OEM solution from their X51 kit for 1999-2001 year cars?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys. I've been entertaining getting some headers for my 2000 cab and sorta kinda wanna stick with the German theme. Sadly, Ruf doesn't actually make a set (which speaks volumes about their thoughts on the ability to improve upon OEM design but that's been argued elsewhere and I'm still considering them). So, here's the question: who makes the nicest set of equal length headers? TechArt? FVD? Fabspeed (though I recall that they aren't actually German after all, but Taiwanese?!)? Or, what about using the OEM solution from their X51 kit for 1999-2001 year cars? Thanks.

POST 3Original post

Fabspeed. But when you look at Dyno Tests, you are really only gaining about 4 whp. Good sound. I run specials for rennlisters. drop me a line. If you want dyno tests, email me and I will send you some.

POST 4Original post

Why waste money on something with no discernible benefit that isn't visible to anyone but your mechanic? For what it's worth, I had B&B headers on my '99 so I know a little something about them.

POST 5Original post

You could have the OE headers ceramic coated with plasma applied ceramic material ( not jet coat ) and you could get about the same performance gains due to better scavaging at about 1/10 the cost. And keep a bunch of heat out of the bottom of the engine for free. And yes I have had mine done, this stuff is very tough, no chipping or flaking, and actually works. Porsche has used this on exhaust runners for years.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
